Hi there, I need to renew my British Passport soon, does anyone know which British Embassy I need to contact to do this? I am in New York if that helps, in August this year my passport will have 6 months left until it expires, so figured I should get it renewed soon.

12/9/2005 - I129F submitted

02/11/2005 NOA2 APPROVED Wohooooo!!!!

07/11/2005 Received by NVC - on way to Consulate!! yeah!!

07/11/2005 Applied for Police Certificate

15/11/2005 Police Clearance Cert Arrived

17/11/2005 Received at Consulate

30/11/2005 Medical at Edinburgh Nuffield Screening Center

03/12/2005 Packet 3 Received from Consulate!! Yipee!!

08/12/2005 X-Ray and Medical Results delivered by Courier

20/12/2005 National Police Certificate Arrives! *(TIP: it takes FULL 40 days to arrive, so apply early!)*

You should renew via the British Embassy in Washington, DC. http://www.britainusa.com/sections/index_n...i=10080&d=1

Also, just a thought, copy all the page in your passport before you send it in for renewal. I haven't had to renew my passport yet, but going through the K1 process etc. I would want to make sure I had a copy just in case...

There is only one British Embassy in the USA that is in Washington DC, all other locations are Consulates, there is a consulate in NVC.

You renew passport through the embassy in DC. http://www.britainusa.com/sections/index_n...i=10080&d=1

Note: Embassies are always located in a nation's capital, all other locations are consulates.

I agree with copying it. I would also renew as soon as possible. I have a friend renewing a Jamaica passport through D.C. and it's been a nightmare. The problems stem from Jamaica. It's take a very long time so far and she is actually fearing a trip they have planned in August may not happen.

I renew my passport through my embassy in Washington, and got it really fast back with also new last name. Like every other embassy my embassy was looking for notice of marriage, so I had to get my marriage certificate with Apostille (you get Apostille at Secretary of State), and I had to send them my old passport, but in general just contact embassy and they will send you and expline everything that you need to do. Its pretty much easy, I contact my embassy by email.

They won't issue passports unless you let them now that you got married.

So don't worry its not to complicated!!
