Daniel has a 4 yr old labrador mix male which he never bothered to get neutered (lived on a farm didn't realise it - excuse).. We just adopted a German Shephard/Akita mix 5 month old female from the shelter.. We just thought that we will get Scooby neutered and Lady spayed.. The problem is the vet has given me June 18th for their operations (even after checking other clinics and explaining the situation) and its driving me mad to have a adrenalin crazed dog with a puppy who doesn't realise that Scooby is not just trying to play with her....

She is already a bit bigger than him and doesn't let him have his way around her, I am hoping she grows much bigger and too fast

What do I do?? besides - I should have known better to get a female into the house :blush: ....

What kind of housing situation are you in? is it possible to just keep them separated?

Its an independant house with 3 spare bedrooms and a huge backyard... I keep Lady away from him as much as possible.. she's a puppy who does not like to be alone (she's very social).. He's a dog who is training to be house broken so can't be trusted alone in a room (pees everywhere when alone).. Right now, I just put him in his crate and he's howling... atleast he's not trying to do her :whistle:

Invite your vet over for dinner . . . maybe it will help him realize you need a faster appointment than that! Even if you can just get the male neutered and wait until June for Lady's operation it would help immensely. I would just keep trying the vet and say you will take a cancellation or whatever. Good luck.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

He's been to obedience training for two weeks. We just got him backon saturday.. Apparantly too social now. Will not leave Lady alone. The house breaking will taje some time and thats why the trainer advised a crate. I wish the vet would just give us a more recent date.
