I got married on Jan 3 and I was in India for 6 weeks. I am planning to go back in India next month for 2 weeks. Can I file DCF at New Delhi? What's the official requirement to stay in India for DCF? Please advice.... Thanks

You need to be currently resident in India. The general guideline is for the past 6 months, but I have heard others talkig about only 90 days' residence in India before filing the I-130 with the embassy there.

24 Feb 2007 - Sent I-130 to London USCIS office (I'm the petitioner)

25 May 2007 - NOA2

2 June 2007 - Received Packet 3

12 Oct 2007 - Sent Packet 3 back by special delivery

5 Nov 2007 - Interview in London - Approved without any hitches!

7 Nov 2007 - Visa and MBE arrived by SMS! :)

30 Jan 2008 - Fly to Michigan!! :)

*Note: Any delays in our case are only due to us taking things slowly

Contact your nearest FRRO office and get permit from the office indicating that you are residing in India for more than 90 days.

02/01/2008 : Mailed I-130 to Chicago Lock Box via Priority Mail

02/04/2008 : I-130 reached Chicago 2:18 AM

02/19/2008 : NOA1

02/20/2008 : $355 check cashed

02/25/2008 : Case available to view online

08/26/2008 : Email: Case will transfer to CSC

08/27/2008 : Notice Sent: Case will transfer to CSC

09/04/2008 : Email: Case arrived and pending at CSC

09/05/2008 : Touch

09/08/2008 : Touch

09/23/2008 : Approved !!! (217 days | 31 weeks) from NOA 1 (235 days | 33 weeks) from file

You can get contact number from here to call them then ask them about how to proceed with registration. I believe that you need to go to your regional police station and have registration form stamped.
