DS form questions

I was wondering if we could fill out the online DS-156 form before we get our NOA2 or will that screw things up. I'm just trying to stay one step ahead of the game. We're hoping to see our NOA2 in the next 3-4 weeks. Also, do we need to fill out the DS-230? I don't see mention of it in the Manila K-1 visa guide thread. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Hi,

Yes DS 156 should really be filled up online as it has bar code after completely filling it online. As long the OMB number is still valid i don't think there would be problem about that.

And DS-230 is not for K visa applicant.

to be honest you can fill it up anytime (in my opinion)... thats what i did too before just keep on filling up all the DS-form for practice and gosh i may have printed a hundred pages just keep finalizing it lol... and in the end, i fill up again one more time a week before my interview (i just copy what i filled up on the blanks and change the date)... you can fill something up right now and if you want a later date, then hey, just copy what you've got already. that makes it a lot easier! good luck and God bless!!!

DS-230 is NOT required for K1s in the Philippines. I believe it is in some other countries tho.
