Im adopted and only have my adoption certificate. Can anyone tell me if this is ok or do i need to track down my birth certificate (ive never used that in my life)

It says the on the Us embassy birth certificates and adoption certificates but im confused as to if i need both or its either or

I have seen this question on another thread and the answer was you will need both. Have you got a passport already?

You can get a duplicate really quick. I needed one last year and it took less than a week.

Thanks for the words of inspiration, I just missed Cinara (IM) on-line by a few minutes, It's a 4 hour time difference there, so I guess she waited as long as she could to use her jobs computer before it got too late for her to travel home. Besides, I didn't have good news anyway...kinda get tired of telling her "Not today" because it depresses her. Anyway there's always tomorrow, the sun will come out tomorrow....

It's hard, definitely! I didn't check today, but haven't gotten any emails. I'm determined not to check at least one weekday, cause it just makes me cry when I don't see anything updated. Maybe tomorrow....

just checked and theres no update no change and no email. still concidering phoning just to see if they can tell us the current staus of our case persay name check and such.

Hello everybody, I'm a long time reader of this forum but I just registered today.

I got my NOA1 (CSC received date) on 5/8/08 so I'm in the same boat as most of you. So far, I've only got a touch on 5/18/08 and nothing else. I'm getting a little anxious now since other May filers are getting their NOA2s, do you think something could have gone wrong this far into the process (RFE)? The only thing that worries me is that the info I put down for my fiance's job is no longer valid since she now works for herself (business). Could that affect the whole process?

By the way, I have hired a lawyer to generate the forms etc.

have plenty of time handy, I tried a week ago, and after 30 minutes had to give up.

The CSC has switched priorities for now, so we're going a bit slower. Nonetheless, we've got a few good approvals in the last (work) week, so we should be seeing some more.

Think they're pushing more beginning-mid May filers through, so maybe one of us later May filers might score a lottery win soon.

You should contact your lawyer and have the forms updated. We went through the same thing, and the lawyer updated for us back in June.

I'm happy to report that we got our paper copy noa2 in the mail tonight and our case is at the NVC already.

I wouldn't worry too much about it... There are a few of us within the first 5 days of May that are still waiting for our NOA-2's.... and when I called they said that it depends on the background checks... so don't get worried just quite yet!!! Welcome to our crazy little forum!
