Thanks BrazilianXuxu, we need to hear (read) something positive from time-to-time. Cinara is still in Recife Brazil waiting and wondering what the heck is going on with immigrations, one day we're on our way to that elussive NOA2, and then the next thing we read about, is that time lines did a back slide to the previous month. This waiting puts a lot of milage on both parties, maybe that's why it's called a "Journey" but I have to keep her thinking positive too. So thank you for your efforts.

Ahh, those Brazilians... good thing they're worth it! When was the last time you were there?? Where is Recife in relation to Sao Paulo? Guess I could just look it up, but I'm in class, not paying attention. I swear this process is making me crazy!!!!!

Hey! Welcome Fee and Josh!

Congrats to the approvals, let's keep them coming!

I finally broke down and called the USCIS today... actually spoke to a very nice woman, she was so sweet, sympathized with all of our situations, but couldn't offer any info other than what's on the website. But she was so nice, it gave me a tiny bit of relief, knowing that there's actually people there who are friendly and recognize how tough this is for all of us!

That being said, I just want to say a huge thanks to everyone on this site. We're all technically strangers, but knowing there's people out there that understand what we're going though definitely helps. What would we all do without this support?? You guys all rock!!

seriously is that all they can give you? :( what did you ask them exactly? can they really not tell you if your out of security checks allready? :(

still not touched :(

Yeah, basically I asked why some people with later NOA-1 dates were getting NOA-2's before us (not that I'm not ecstatic for all of you!), and all she said was that background checks take different amounts of time. That's it. Still no touch for us either. Boo. I swear I'm at my lowest point, I don't think I've cried this much since I left him in Brazil. I HATE this! Just let me be with my fiance already USCIS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, I am Gr-uuum-py!

so she was suggesting that you atre not done with the security checks yet?

Recife is on the North coast above Sao Paulo. Check out "Google Earth" and it will take you to it. Although she's from Recife Pernambuco (PE)...born in Olinda PE, we met for the first time in Joao Pessoa in december 2007(further north) about 2 hours away, and just sat on the beach and sipped Coconut juice all day...we did other things too, but you know how Brazilians are when it comes to the beach, and I loved every minute of it. I really hated to come home, and I slept...really slept, for the first time in 15 years.

i don't get this, i thought the security checks are done right off then given to an officer who looks at our case, and hopefully approves it

There's something about being in Brazil, relaxing, feeling like the stress of the world just melts away (or at least is well hidden) it was a nice break from all this stress. What are you wedding plans? Doing anything in Brazil??

i'm trying to work out what could be slowing down our security checks, i mean my name is one of a kind, if there is another person out there that has our name, odds are they are related cos one of my grandads created it. perhaps its the hyphen, i always use it but then the hyphen isn't on my birthcertifcate, or pasport, but the name is the same, so i dont see how it would change things, especially as they dont have hyphens or appostrophies in their system according to the letter they sent Vito. I'm english and i have no criminal record. the only thing i can think of that could cause confussion is we sent a addendium with the g 325 stating that during the time, i lived and still do the address on box# i maintained other addresses at college aswell. i listed them and one was in france (was only for three months). perhaps thats what the issue is. but i put them down cos i didnt want to cause a problem for us, by not.

on Vitos side i can't see anything that would slow it down either.

BrazilianXuxu think we have some time on our hands :(

Although I have the time to spend in Brazil, we've invested a lot in the whole K-1 visa process. It was costly because we used an attorney, only because of the type of work that I do, I simply did not have the time to put things together myself. It took Cinara forever to do the things that she had to do to complete the package together, but she works her behind off over there, and does not have a car to get around to the civil offices for documents etc. So basically we decided to marry here, maybe in Hawaii in a simple ceremony, and the following year return to Recife and do it right with her family present.

It is so strange, not being tied to Igors list, I still keep checking it, a habit, I guess, developed over the past few months. I am now hoping all the rest of our May friends will be joining us, and soon. I wouldnt get too worried just yet guys, I know how hard it is, but I think that at least 2 more weeks of normal approvals are coming, plus all those that seem to hang up for no reason other than the terrors of a terrible system. Here's hope to you all, that the next few days are yours, and none of our little group gets held up.

Us too! We're going to have a small beach-side ceremony and then a party later in Brazil. And we did the same with the attorney, because we were told that it's a much safer bet. Sounds like we're in very similar situations! I don't think I can afford another trip to Brazil (although if I wasn't in grad school at the moment I would not be opposed to moving there for a while!) so we're basically stuck until he gets here because he doesn't have a tourist visa- does Cinara??

Hannah, I feel your pain! There is another person with my name (actually a second cousin!) and I had a lot of addresses during college. Adriano has worked in Hawaii for a year, then in Orlando for a bit, and now on cruise ships, so he's been all over. But he had a US SSN and has been here and back to Brazil more than once, so I don't know what the hold up could be!?!?!?! Have there been any other approvals today???? I feel like a whiny brat... when's it myyyy turn???

I know I had checked for a touch every 10 minutes last night, and then the last time, I was planning on going to bed, there it was. Its something you cant predict, and cant see coming. Tonight even, could be yours, or any of our other posters' night. I am hoping it will be for several of you at least.

I've been feeling like a whinny brat for the past three weeks :(
