Wow. As I have dealings before with bureaucrats and bureaucratic systems. You have people all through the chain of command who half the time do nothing but think of more ways in trying to justify their existence.

In this case it seems that they are trying to make it easier for people from certain countries to bypass a long process somewhat but am wondering if I am the only one that sees this turning into a huge cluster f**k.

Bypass what before on vwp you bought your ticket went and filled out a card on the way over. How or what is this ment to make simpler. Other than set up. For new fees. Its not for those countries not on vwp its for those already on it.

PPS Me again  Ive just looked at a website and its actually not bad at all! Travellers under the VWP just have to log onto this https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov, where they will be ''prompted to complete biographical and passport information, and answer the following series of questions similar to those found on the Form I-94W''

Then pretty much straight away they will recieve another email to say whether theyre granted a yes or a no for travel. If youve had no convictions youre fine! This does not give you guarentee that you will be able to get through POE but after doing this once you wont have to do it again fro another 2 years However, travelers must "update their itineraries and US destinations on the ESTA website as they are planned"

http://www.hg.org/article.asp?id=5394

Just check out this site...Its actually all good and nothing to worry aboutwhat so ever...all you gotta do is remeber to tell your friends and family who lan to come to the USA After 12th Jan 2009 as after this, applying for this electronic I94 is mandatory and they my be denied boarding the aircraft/

This all will mean that there will be no I94 but of paper and therefore no risk of loosing it and therefore no confusion about overstay or paying to get a replacment ect

As CCA already described. It is to make certain travelers from certain countries a quick way to get approval to enter the USA. They talked about this a couple years ago but I see the bureacrats are just now getting too it. I see how this could be turned into a Cluster though real quick.

Thank you! Rest assured, you May filers are coming SOOOOOOOOOON! :D

This has all come as such a surprise. I had no clue that the processing times on the USCIS site were inaccurate. Could have saved so many tears every time they pushed it back. Our NOA-1 was May 1, 2008, so I'm hoping to hear something this week based on VJ. A random Affidavit question... will he need to show current income, or is that all me/my family? I'm getting so nervous! I just got back from Brazil a week ago, expecting not to see him again for 6 months! I'm trying not to get too excited about anything because every time, we've been disappointed, but things are looking like we might possible catch a break! So excited.

first things first is he petitioner or benificiary? or are you petitioner or benificiary? and who is sponcering benificiary? petitioner? co sponcer, or apparently there is such a thing in some few cases of self sponcership but i hear its a bit difficult to do as some are unsure about how much liquid assets are required for this.

from the guides on vj http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1guide

What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2):

1. A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one).

2. Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy.

3. Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).

4. I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is notarized (by a US Notary Public), with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all.

5. You will likely need at a minimum (for the above form) two to three of your most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of your position. Begin collecting these ASAP after your NOA2 arrives. You will also probably want to include other evidence such as your banking information and other assets as required by the I-134. Specifically you will need at least 2 of the 4 options mentioned in Section II-Supporting Evidence of the I-134. See this FAQ for more tips and ueful information on the Affidavit of Support Form.

6. A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail.

7. Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, etc from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 date-now).

Examples: Copies of phone bills, cell phone bills, emails (you can edit personal info with a marker), letters (edit personal info also), stamps on the letters (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!)

I really shouldnt have done that! Now i feel like so upset. I called up CSC and actually got to somebody! I gave my reciept number and he repeated eveything on the website... recieved and pending blah blah. I then asked if there was anything that they could do because i was getting anxious and i knew they were approving april filers. He just blankly said that on the official website they were onto january 'maam' and so i coul be waiting another 4 months!!!! Do u think that the people approved are just a lucky handful of people, cuz i mean why would they put january on the website if they really were way ahead of that? Surley there must be some people they approve that actually go by this timeline?? No im worried and upset and all hope has gone for an approval anytime soon

nah i think the website times are to cover their backsides majority will be approved way before that, so april/may for us now, its like most companies and businesses they will give out an official expectation slightly lower than they can actually acheive because, it makes things easiers and gives them a bit of leyway when things go wrong, and its not like they are going to loose business to up the road if they put out poor expectations. they are probly thinking that almost all except fro the really hard cases those unucky few, have been approved upto jan 2nd. and to be further honest, the reverse date happen just after they transfered a load of k3s/and such from vsc, to get rid of their back log. if they start to deviate from the website they may have to give answers they don't have to angry customers.
