OOHH!! Lucky you! I think Hannah's is in about 3 months too! I haven't even found a venue yet. I was hoping for May and inexpensive and in Chicago something as soon as May seems like it's too close, and inexpensive in Chicago?.....heh. Are you doing something big?

Nope, a few friends, a Destin, FL beach, and hello happily ever after!!!!

We'll do parties in my hometown and his to celebrate, but the wedding itself will be tiny. Just me, my Xuxu, a few friends, my fam, then dinner on the beach (hopefully, if we can get the reservation) and a relaxed evening of dancing, drinking, and celebrating. Can't wait!!!

As for me it is looking like a Catholic wedding. My friend said I couldn't as I wasn' Catholic. I talked to Trang's Uncle and he said to just buy the priest a good bottle of booze and give a little bit of money and he would do anything. Seems my loophole got taken away again.

i Know a couple who married many many years ago in catholic church even though only one was catholic and the other refussed to convert. the compromise was the priest married them in the church, but it was only a 15 min service and they couldnt have all the trimmings.

Catholics can marry a non-catholic. You just can't have a full mass. At least in the Archdiocese of Chicago that's how it was 10 years ago. People marry interfaith all the time. Some churches might be more strict than others.

I like you're idea Xuxu! The more I put thought into it, the more money a wedding seems to be. I'm thinking about sneaking over to one of the pretty points along Lake Michigan, inviting a handful of friends to witness and then honeymoon in Florida. We're thinking of Disney World and Clearwater perhaps....Although, I found out you can get married at the Chicago Cultural Center for $10 on Saturday mornings! So that's an option maybe too.

Well cool. Then this Catholic thing is looking better all the time. 15 minutes seem like a long time still to stand up there but I guess it could be worse. I do know afterwards that a ####### load of people are coming so far and from what I seen of other Vietnamese receptions this should be a real doozy. At least I do know they have a lot of drinking and that is a good thing. As long as I can make it to the honeymoon I know what to do from there.
