We called today to DoS, and the lady there thought we should have an interview date set by next Friday at the latest. They are up to late Dec in London, so we should have an interview before new year. Then as soon as Melannie finishes up at her job, life will be good again!

We called today to DoS, and the lady there thought we should have an interview date set by next Friday at the latest. They are up to late Dec in London, so we should have an interview before new year. Then as soon as Melannie finishes up at her job, life will be good again!

You could still make it in time for Christmas!

Does anyone know if you are allowed to enter the U.S with a k1 without using it to enter?

Melannie would like to come here for the holidays, but has to stay in the U.K until late Feb on her job contract. As much as we'd like to be done with our visa before the holidays, in some ways it would be better for us if our interview was in Jan.

We dont want to postpone though as we are most eager to be through with this process, and will spend the holidays apart if that is the way it works out.

i think its automatically used. if you do a search you should (not that searches allways work)

come up with a few who have asked before but i think they make you use it when you enter even if you dont want to. :unsure:

we spent almost 4 hours online tonight and I'm emailing some docs to him so he can print them in the morning :wacko:

WE GOT OUR VISA at the chennai consulate. INDIA :dance::dance:

After waiting for 4 hours at the consulate a 5 minute interview gave us the visa... we will write a complete review after we get back to my home town with better internet facilities...

Timeline:

K1 - Fiance Visa

05/15/08: Filed for K1

12/01/08: Interview Scheduled for 9:00 AM at US consulate Chennai

12/01/08: Approved at 11:30 AM

12/04/08: Got the passport with the VISA stamped :D

12/09/08: Got on the airlines and arrived at LAX at 6:15 PM POE took 4 mins

01/27/09: The big day - WEDDING

01/28/09: Applied for SSN

02/12/09: Got SSN in the mail

02/17/09: Got Marriage Certificate

02/28/09: Filed AP, AOS and EAD

03/13/09: NOA received (AP, AOS and EAD)

03/13/09: Biometrics appointment received

03/18/09: RFE mailed

Just got off the phone with DOS, and Sarah's interview is scheduled for 1/13/09 at 8am!!!!

good luck to the rest of you, and John, The visa is automatically used...So, if she has the visa, then she'll have to enter with it. :(

hey everyone!! so sorry i havent checked in in a while but ive done quick read of this forum to catch me up and im sooo happy things are really moving!!! :star:

ive been busy settling in and organising the wedding which i jan 10th!ordered flowers ect and tried on my dress with all jewlrey/shoes and whatnot the other day AND my best friend just called me to say thata her exam has been resheculed so she is prob coming now too! Just looking at flights so i can book one for her and im very relieved to see that they have gone down in price :whistle: now ive just gotta find a bridesmaid dress for her which matched the others heheheh :wacko:

hope youre all ok...

oh and im almost certain melanie cant come to the states if her k1 is in her passport as it will automatically be used sorry, but it wont be long.........

I did try and find out to be doubly sure they got my checklist and forms but their system was down so i have to phone back.

i also asked if they had an estimated processing time for getting interviews and she told me the emssay would tell me that :blink: i was the phone to the embassy hotline. i thought thats who i contact for info about the embassy?
