Hey

I received packet 3 today and want to fill it in and mail it back out by Monday. What did everyone put in the spots for 'Date of travel' and 'Date of wedding'? I am a mature student and will be done with university in two weeks, so am keen to get things all wrapped up asap.

Did anyone put a date of travel a few weeks off to speed up the process, or get an earlier interview date? If you don't have any dates set, what did you put? 'TBA'? 'ASAP'?

Any advice would be gratefully received!

- Martin

Anecdotal evidence seems to suggest that London will assign you a date for interview much more quickly if you state a (realistic) moving date than if you put "TBA". However, there was a little disagreement last year whether putting a near-in-the-future date when it was not strictly necessary was a moral thing to do, when you just wanted to speed up the process but didn't know the date; the argument was that you would be keeping someone who actually "needed" that date from getting it.

If you have a good or even vague idea of when you're going to move, put it down. Otherwise, TBA or ASAP will do.

We left it blank and got an interview date for less than a month from when we sent packet 3. but ours seems to be out of the ordinary. I know that the few people that sent packet 3 back around the same time as us got interview dates for about 6 weeks later. so ours was a lucky case but London does respect travel and wedding dates.

best of luck getting a quick interview date!

Hey everyone

Thanks for all your advice. In the end, I just put 'ASAP' as my date of travel. I ended up getting an interview date of 9 June, which is awesome.
