Alot of Baby Talk on mena lately ~ anyone care to share tips and advice on pregnancy, maybe advice passed on from co-workers, family members, in-laws, friends ?

Soothing out Stretch Marks

Cures for Morning (or anytime during pregnancy) sickness

Swelling of feet

Diets on what to feed the baby growing inside

Etc...Feel free to bring up more subjects!

Not personally ready to have kids yet, but I got a couple of tips from family members, in-laws, friends and wondering if any other members had special advice for pregnancy.

An Ethiopian woman at work (with beautiful skin) is around 7 months pregnant didn't seem to have any stretch marks from her previous child or current! She said putting Vaseline (jelly from the tub) constantly start to finish of the pregnancy helps avoid stretch marks. I would have never thought it would've came in handy but it worked for her!

She also said her 1 year old had such nice glowing skin with rosy cheeks (saw her baby pics) because she ate alot of fruit, salad, and toast. She kept it strictly vegetarian with cooked foods too. I will definitely be following her advice! Anyone else got some insight!

i think they say to eat saltine crackers even before ur feet hit the floor to make u not have morning sickness. i dont know cuz i didnt have it but its what i hear helps.

my mom had twins and never put anything on her stomach to prevent stretch marks and didnt get them. she had 5 kids and never a stretch mark.. now me on the other hand used cocoa butter and other lotions they had on the market to avoid getting them and nothing worked. i think it just depends on ur skin type if u will get them or not.

Stretch Marks: I agree that skin type makes ALL the difference in the world! But lotions never hurt and with twins its been a battle...some luck out and some don't! But water/keeping hydrated, plus lotion have worked great for me so far. :)

Morning sickness: Saltines (any type of plain cracker) Also, taking my prenatal vitamins later in the day (near evening) instead of mornings since my belly was less stable in the morning! :) I was blessed though and didn't experience much of it!!

Swelling Feet: REST...put those puppies up! If you don't you'll regret it...the more you put em up the better they will feel. Soak 'em when you can and if your love is around...massage 'em please!!

Diets...hmmm...no advice. I eat what I want..Joking. Healthy at times and indulge when I need to as well! I believe your body will tell you as well what you need...I have had major cravings for red meat and no carbs what so ever and my doctor has raved about my health/blood tests. Where I have girlfriends who want to throw up at the thought of eating red meat and crave sweets or carbs! So its about what your body needs and what your doctor of course is recommending by your check ups (so important).

Doctor advice...Ask questions on each visit, don't be shy!! You're paying its your dime! Follow their advice as well...I'd rather correct something while its small then later when its a big problem!

Keep a diary/log and take pictures of ur growing belly! So fun and really I can't wait to show the babies when they are older!!

So many things ... read a lot, talk to friends, sign up early for coupons and baby discounts, avoid stress (no matter what remember ur baby feels what you feel)...Overall, a woman needs to ENJOY THIS SPECIAL TIME!!

Be blessed! :)

Stretch marks - totally genetic, my grandma had them, my mom does, I did and so does my sister. Bummer. Lotion didn't work one bit.

Morning sickness, just throw up and get it over with LOL that's what I had to do.

Feet: Mine didn't swell ever so I'm not sure about this one I would guess just don't walk around so much!

For those with a foreign SO the whole pregnancy and inclusion process I believe is a little weird for them. My husband really had no clue when it came to babies. He was there for it all but I should have done a better job helping him to learn about pregnancy and getting prepared. I ended up on bedrest for a little while and he just didn't get why I couldn't get up and do anything. Thank god my mom was there!

Anyone know of how to prevent leg cramps otherwise called charlie horses.........I get them in my left calf muscle in the middle of the night. I don't get them during the day.......but when it happens at night, I wake up screaming from the pain. I know there's one theory that it could be that you need more calcium but, I don't have a calcium deficiency. My doctor said it's normal during pregnancy and to try and take a magnesium suppliment, I've tried that for about 3 weeks and so far.......it hasn't helped.

Perhaps you should try a natural source of magnesium - like a banana a day. I had a friend who had this problem (not from pregnancy, tho) and eating a banana a day did the trick. If it was skipped for a few days, cramps came back. Back on the banana treatment! LOL... it worked.

This used to work when I got them when I danced , One the afftect leg find the floor or other solid surface ( the end of the bed if you are lying down might work) use the top of the foot strech a bit out ( like the position of wearing high heels ) and make little pushes with the foot . Do this for about 3 minutes and it should help.
