Umm...I'm probably going to get slammed here...but I just thought I'd add a question which is NOT directed solely at charlesandnessa or nessaandcharles, but at anyone that it may pertain to, and the only reason I'm even asking it in this thread is because we're already on the topic of stopping certain posts:

Is there anyway we could cut back on the dirty threads? The joke threads were a bit bothersome, but I just scrolled past them all as best as I could. But one thing I can't seem to escape is all the dirty threads that have popped up (no pun intended  ) lately. I'm not talking about the ones to seriously ask for advice, but the pointless ones like "Boobies" and "Breasts o'plenty" and "Me so horny", etc.

Please don't take this as hostile or as an attack on anyone...it's just that lately I've been wanting to direct co-workers and family members to this site to present to them the time-consuming process getting a visa and moving to America truly entails. But, I've been too embarassed to send them here due to all the dirty threads in Off-Topic. I'm afraid that they won't bother taking VisaJourney seriously. :(

If they come to VJ looking for the answers for getting a visa and moving to America, then its doubtful they would find those answers in OT since there are forums and threads to answer specific issues. I know you don't mean it as a hostile attack but this is what a public forum is like...you take the good with the bad. You ignore the threads you dont want to read and read those that pertain to what you want to know. If everyone judged Visa Journey by the contents of Off Topic then there might not be a lot of people here looking for serious answers. OT is just a place to let off steam, relax, or even have a laugh or two to relieve the stress. :) Hope you didn't take this as a "slam"...wasn't intended to be.

Karen you took the words right out of my mouth.

Jelti, I appreciate your pov...and sometimes there are threads that I don't participate in. But you can't expect a whole forum to stop joking around so you can show your family & coworkers. Just tell them to stay out of OT.

You know, I agree with both KarenCee and jelti.

No, I am not "sitting on the fence"-it's just they both have a point.

Believe it or not ( looking at some of the other forums I have been a member of) O/T is the same everywhere!

Just ignore the stuff you don't care to read....

IK HOU VAN JOU, MARK

.png

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

Oh, please don't misunderstand me. I didn't mean for all of OT to stop joking around. I just thought maybe we could keep things at least mildly PG-13?

Anyway, it was just a thought. :P

Why, thanks darling :star:

Paul and I met on the Bazaar on the 14th January (he joined my progressive rock forum that day)

July 3rd he flew to England to meet me

We fell in love while he drove all over the place coz I cannot read maps (we were supposed to go to Ingleton - but touched Darlington 4 times, Pierce Bridge 6 times, Scotch Corner twice and Bernard Castle twice and we never did make it to Ingleton)

It has been so long and so much has happened in between...

Arrived in Houston on October 29th 2006

Married 17th November 2006

Lost my father 8th January 2007 (all dates are a blur after this)

Conditional Green Card dated 24th October 2007

I-751 posted on 6th August 2009

Received on 7th August 2009 in VT
