Well for fairness I also added "yellows" in the mix so those with Asian SOs don't feel left out. I guess we can also add "cream" and "olive" to the list of colors I suppose.

I'm pinkish beige myself...

"pinkish beige" added to the list!

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

nice...

It's crazy. The hysteria surrounding illegal immigrants has gone way too far.

you're right, we instead should transport them somewhere else and release them!

The time to look for illegals is before and after. Not during the evacuation.

Seriously.

For K1's: during the period of time starting from 90 days from entry to when EAD is received, there is really no proof of status at all.

I guess the passport would be sufficient though because it would show legal entry.

It's still crazy though.

The passport will have a cancelled out K1 visa.

Proof of legal entry is not proof of valid status. One can enter legally and then lapse.

Even though an idiot can see that these entry visas expire... and no further proof means that that idiot would detain just to be safe.

If the judgment call is made by someone with the proper training in immigration law (say, a USCIS officer) I would be ok with it.

I trust USCIS less... LOL

The point is I don't think this is something that can be done in a timely manner to ensure everyone gets to safety quickly.

There has been a lot of talk lately in this state of letting cops make those calls. Frankly, the prospect is scary.

USCIS I have no problem with. Those people are good.

And am I going to be separated from my husband/child/mother/etc because I am a USC and they don't have "proper proof"?

Unfortunately, even USCIS officers make mistakes.

Subject matter experts make mistakes all the time. Surgeons screw up and people die. It happens. All I'm saying is, if a call must be made, I'd rather have the SME do it than someone else.

ETA: I still maintain that during an evac is not the right time to do it.
