It's crazy. The hysteria surrounding illegal immigrants has gone way too far.

you're right, we instead should transport them somewhere else and release them!

The time to look for illegals is before and after. Not during the evacuation.

as good a time as any, isn't it?

Not if it means it puts a single life - legal or illegal - in danger.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

life before a law that not enforceable

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Charles come on.... a hurricane is coming, people need to get out of it's path and you trust the goverment to accurately check status in a timely fashion?

aaaaaaaah, but now you get to the crux of it... would some people care if a bunch of illegals get tumbled around in a hurricane?

It is God's punishment on the illegals...

if they weren't here illegally they wouldn't be in harms way? nor would they be causing a slow down during an evacuatuion putting everyone at risk.

By the time they get around to checking everyone's status there may be 100+ mph winds. Or should they only check "brown" people?

And what about people who can't confirm status one way or another?

as for those who can't confirm, i'm sure they'll have a plan.

Plenty of VJer spouses in that bus. I wonder how some of the more adamant folks here would feel if their SOs were detained for not yet having their GC during a GC check... with no passport stamp and no approval papers it may well end up meaning that these "brown" and "yellow" spouses end up reaping some of the insensible beliefs of their own spouses in situations like these. What a pity.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Well if you read these threads it only seems to be the brown illegals that upset people so much. I didn't say all illegals are brown, but look at any "illegal" thread here and I'll bet you >95% will be about Mexicans.

interesting point... I'm trying to think what K-1 and K-3's enter with though. Hubster had a stamp in his passport but he came on a CR1.

Well for fairness I also added "yellows" in the mix so those with Asian SOs don't feel left out. I guess we can also add "cream" and "olive" to the list of colors I suppose.
