Hi all!

I think I may just get an ulcer by the end of this process from worrying so much, but what can you do eh? :)

So Bo sent off our package on May 5th by overnight courier and it arrived and was signed for on May 6th. Here is where the worry sets in: We have still not received anything through email about our NOA1 and the check has not been cashed yet. It's 10 days and I see from most people's timelines that they had electronic confirmation between 2-5 days after the paperwork was received.

Is this long of a wait normal? If we don't get it today, then it won't be until next tuesday that they would get to it, making it two full weeks. I haven't seen any timelines so far that have had to wait that long :(

Any ideas? or at least some general words of encouragement LOL :)

Thanks guys

We filed on the 9th May. Still havent received our NOA1. I think realisticly your looking at 2-3 weeks for the NOA1.

Good luck, hope you get it soon.

I would give it a little longer, you know it was recieved and signed for thats the main thing. Vermont seem a little slower at the moment, i hope you hear something soon.

I had the same worry!!... Noticing that checks had been cashed ASAP and NOA1s sent viewing amyn different timelines. CSC never cashed our check for a month, then finally sent our NOA1 after one month and 2 weeks.. I was at dismay and feeling panicy, after a while though you expect delays.. The very best of luck and hang in there... you will get your NOA1 soon.

I think you have misunderstood peoples timelines because unless you sign up for e-mail notification, there will never be any "electronic" notification. It is not automatic.

YMMV

Definetely! No electronic confirmation at first. But you can be tranquil if you have the receipt that they received the packet. The NO1 can take 2-3 wks. Good look.

No you shouldn't be worried at all. The NOA1 is not noting the CSC or VSC's progress with your case, it's just letting you know they received the paperwork, you're in the system, and that they've put all your documents on a shelf and they'll be sitting there collecting dust for some months haha.

Also some people get their's like 3 days after, some people get theirs like a month after, it just depends. Who knows how csc/vsc does their work haha.

It will be in your hands before you know it.

Also note that although in my timeline it says NOA1 7 days. I was going by the USCIS date. It didn't arrive at my husband's address until day 11, so maybe that is a bit misleading.

I have a question? When you say sign up for e-mail notification...do you mean where it asks for your e-mail address at the end of the I-129F, under where your signature go's? If not.....I think I missed something  I put my e-mail address on the I-129F.....was there some ware else???

When you receive you NOA1, you can create and account on theUSCIS website with the case number you got.

Good luck.

Thanks 'william_wallace' I think I was getting a little ahead of myself , I found the info about using the case number to track our petition.....I think I need to take the energy I'm worrying with and use it for reading instead . Thanks again.

Welcome to the world of K1 visa applications. Kinda like the Twilight Zone, only in colour. After you have been here a while, you will see everyone else is sweating the same bullets as you, and feeling just as silly at times :)
