Paper clips & stickie notes worked for us!

On a k1 petition I think that would be sufficient. All I know is my cr1 petition was over 60 pages. The indexing and punch holes helped immensely

Wow!! why so many pages? We only had a few.

Actually USCIS has a guide on preparing packages and it says to use the ACCO fasteners. It also says to use bottom-tabs on your package and to do a cover letter. I did that the first time with our I129F and we got approved really fast (about 5 months from mailing date until his arrival). I did it this time too so we'll see if it helps any. It also says to put labels everywhere saying who it's for and what you're filing and stuff like that. I found it very helpful.

we paper-clipped everything together in the I-129f and got approved in two months. Whether or not you use acco fasteners had no bearing on how quickly you get adjudicated.

A lawyer brought this up to me. Using those prongs on top of the petitions to keep every relevant document together helps. So does INDEXING and EXHIBITS

Like exhibit A... pictures of the trip

Exhibit B.. phone records.

Tie everything together at the top with those straight prong holders like they do with lawsuits across the top with a metal bar so nothing gets seperated. It makes it easy for the CO to flip through and my lawyer does that with every petition he sends them. He always does a number page with an index page and exhibit page so everything can be easily cross referenced and flipped through

this would help with aos and removal of conditions cases because he does the same thing with them

Just a thought

It has been this way since about 1912.

Read the USCIS site as it saz almost the same.

It took a lawyer to tell you this?

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

No proving how many times I was there and how many times we visited, all the places we went, pictures we took, hotel reservation papers, different hotels, money exchange, etc, letter from the algerian consulate in Tunisia, some evidence of some of my work there, etc. I wanted a really full package that would not result in any AP or any additional proof or any RFEs. I got that and he got his visa 7 days after the interview. The burden of proof with a cr1 is considerably higher than a k1 and frankly I didnt feel like sitting for 6 months in ap like some people because the CO decided I didnt have enough bonafides. I already had a friend married to an Algerian get denied in Tunis and it was because of lack of bonafides. I watched her case carefully and over documented everything. I was in Algeria 3 times in 2007 and in Tunisia 2 times in 2007 so needless to say I had alot of copies of all kinds of thing to send to them. My package was so thick it landed with a thud... But hey he has his visa and inchallah he will arrive in Paris soon and be here in about 10 days from now

Not everything is easy to find before you know about this site and there are things that are NOT clearly explained on this site and that is expedites. Of course I listened to a lawyer .. I also read alot here. I was able to find out about the picture requirement and a place on the ds230 that had to be hand printed because it wouldnt take a typed answer ( the pdf form) I have a friend who filed 4 months before me and left nvc recently... so clearly filled out forms and paying attention to changes matters. I had a 2 month delay due to a fee increase that was neither on this site or on nvcs paperwork so sometimes no matter what you do, you are screwed. THey also DID NOT GIVE ADVANCE NOTICE about the 2 pic requirement. I found that out from people complaining on the nvc thread about RFES.

I found out about expedites completely alone by calling and calling and asking caseworkers at NVC.. Things are constantly changing.. this is one resource... attorneys are another.. the immigration law portal website is another....Every consulate is very different. Listening to people who went through Algiers before helped me gauge what I needed to do. Over documentation is always smart.. I benefited from it and the acco fasteners kept everything in place

I did not use the fasteners, but did send in about 30 pages worth of evidence. I thought that was way too much I had sent! I guess it was not enough, although by the time of the interview the phone/chat logs were more then 10 months old

Wow this is a really good thread I'm definitely going to do that next petition. I heard about people organizing but I didn't know it was done that often. It makes pretty good sense they'd be happier seeing an organized one. I'm definitely doing that for his interview comming up this week it will help a heck of a lot. Coffee stains food stains??? Are you serious??? Are people nuts!! I can't stand a speck of black ink being in the wrong place!!

I've worked with lawyers on and off for decades and was also a government bureaucrat, so I can concur that well-organized paperwork is the way to a bureaucrat's heart. I did mine as wahrania described out of habit, and actually received compliments on them. I believe it had lots to do with why we were rushed thru and why hubby got his visa in 24 hours.
