wahrania,,,you are giving wrong advice....it COULD hurt rather than help. When requests are made for expedites..they are pulled out of their normal processing and this could end up delaying rather than helping.

Jackie

I wasnt telling her to apply for an expedite. I asking if someone informed the co she was pregnant. She said yes. Actually when expedites are applied for at the consular level nothing is pulled out. That only applies at NVC and at USCIS. Actually at USCIS, they only look at the paperwork and at NVC the expedite request is sent to a specific officer. You have to call NVC to find out who their name is. Maybe the reason no one got expedites approved around here has more to do with the fact that there is no clear instructions about how to go about it. I actually called NVC, asked for the department and then asked what I needed to provide exactly.Expedites are NOT impossible. They are just not clearly understood. I was discouraged by everyone and told I couldnt get one both on the boards and off even by my attorney. But that has nothing to do with this case. She doesnt need an expedite anyway.. but the CO not knowing she was pregnant was an issue. She ( samira) said she knew so its not an issue at all.

In her situation, she is already through all the processes... a letter of follow up is not a request for an expedite. Its simply calling something to the CO's attention.

I was also told transit visas before you get a greencard or an entry stamp were impossible too,,,,by travel agents and everyone else. Not true. I will tell you one thing. I think an expedite at the NVC is a whole lot easier than USCIS due to the size of it.. But pointing out something to a consular officer is not an expedite..

I am sorry you and your sweety had to go through this. IMO it sounds like she tried to get him to screw up. But in the end I believe he prevailed, or trust me it would have been denied.

Think good thoughts because it should soon be over.

well it says alot for the casa consulate. When they are driving poor husbands crazy with babies on the way...asking them what the last movie their wife saw ( I DO THINK THEY HAVE ACCESS TO ALL KINDS OF THINGS WE DONT KNOW ABOUT>>HHHHHHHH) it says that Casa is one hard ### consulate to get through

I agree with Sara on this......a pregnancy only shows the woman had sex. Does not show WHO she had sex with and usually does not constitute an expedited petition. I have known of many pregnant women that tried and ALL were denied. Wahrania's is the first that I know of in VJ's history that it did work for.

(samira..i soooo was not talking about you in my first sentence! lol so don't get your salty panties in a twist ;) )

The salt is just shaking out of them now! Your right it only shows that you have had sex, with who well only a DNA test can prove that. Although I never did talk to NVC about this and I am just wondering if the letter I sent to USICS was really in my file that was forward or only in the other portion of the K3 file. Hm.....In February I had a dream that they had actually missed placed my request for both petitions and only had it in one. The lady suggested that if I had a doubt I can always request to review my complete case including any notes written in there. I did not think much about it at the time since I did get my request denied letter a week later (it was really fast).

Thanks for both of your suggestions

They misplaced several things in my file and it was my individual follow up with the expedite and copying it to both NVC and the embassy that secured it. Remember a k3 file is only at NVC a very short time. All kinds of things can be misplaced

Then she went on and said okay (again she did not keep this either). Then the last question she asked him was what was the last movie I saw and he said he was confused and said Transformers.

Oh man ... the last movie you saw.

If I were asked that, I'd say what I think about movies today - and it isn't good.

( last movie I watched part of: Apocalypse Now: Redux. Yeah, it's like, as old as I am - but it's pretty good. There's barely anything that's worth watching. I don't know what the Hollywood piracy problem is all about - most of these movies are so bad lately, they're not even worth watching if they were free [or stolen] )

---

But - from the sounds of what happened (and the situation), there's no questions that can really be asked. They've got no excuse to drag their heels - except for caseload - and no excuse to deny.

I don't even remember the last movie I saw, and it was last weekend....how could a consulate expect that. Casa is really tough.

Well, if he was denied, there would be no need to continue on with the interview and keep your evidence. Perhaps that was her ' polite ' way of saying AP ?

Call DOS and see what they say.

Chin up, girl.

I agree. It happens to almost all of us going through MENA/Asian/Latino countries. I too have had 3 nights up all night to hear no visa yet so I and a lot of us here feel you pain, seriously. Don't worry too much, DOS will let you know what happened, most likely they will say additional processing or pending, both are pretty much interchangable and not very happy news since they both mean "wait" and for how long no one seems to know. Just pray to God that everything happens according to good time and check with DOS bi-monthly. Everything will be all right, Insha-Allah.

Tammy

AP: Over 1 year.

Visa: Nov 2

US Entry: Nov 13, Alhamdulillah.

an understatement for sure they are VERY tough, some breeze thru that if all was known they (shouldnt) and those that tell the truth etc get turned down. Did anyone know tht since they hadnt really been looking at the proofs brought at interview lately they allowed some the visas when that person wasnt even talking or in contact with the petitioner any longer (true story)

Do you know anyone personally? This just isn't right.
