Hi everybody... it's been about two weeks since I got here. I've been trying to set up and adapt, although the weather is making everything more difficult to me, heh, I'm used to a much nicer one. (Funny, when I was in Lima, I'd still complain, haha, now I felt I left paradise) My fiance, husband to be, is a very busy man, so I was wondering if anyone living in Texas could come up with a few suggestions about where to go. I thought, since I don't yet have a driver's license, I could start taking the bus and going to libraries or a local gym, but that's about it. I'm new in town. Little do I know about any mall or interesting places to visit. So far I have been to the museum and galleria area and several restaurants and a little town called Spring but that's it. Any suggestion would be appreciated. My only concern is to get lost, I'm really bad with directions! Yeah. I suck when it comes to this. I got a compass and a map and hope that will help.

Greetings and good luck to everybody :P

Hi, I'm not from Texas. But I just wanted to encourage you to have fun explore the city and try not to worry about getting lost. Take a map with you and ask people to help if you're confused. If you're not good at reading maps or following verbal directions, program the number of 1 or 2 taxi companies into your phone. If you're lost have them take you to a place you are familiar with or home. Most companies accept credit and debit cards but keep a little cash (~$30) with you in case.

I recognize from your post that you're in Houston---Galleria and Old Town Spring. It's so big, it would help to know what part of town or what suburb you're in.

Hey there congrats and welcome to TX btw. Well I see you have explored downtown a little lol. There's definitely alot to do in TX especially the Houston area. Kemah boardwalk is fairly close. If you want to drive a couple hours I would suggest checking out the river walk. What part of Houston are yah in?

Hi! what part of texas are you in??? i am traveling this thursday (finally!!!!!). i am going to live outside austin. i was there 4 times in the last year and was driving with my peruvian drivers licence without problems. just follow the rules :P

dont be afraid to get lost... if you want to feel more sure, then get a gps. for me the first step was being sure how to get to the closest highway, then if i get lost i know what i have to ask for.

i was in kemah close to texas city and also in the riverwalk but i consider those places like to go for a weekend. texas is so big that you have to drive some hours to get from one city to another. mu favorite... San Antonio. i love it!!!!!

considering you also posted this 1.5 months ago, by now you should feel much much better!

good luck!

bye
