As part of the evidence for the I-134 required for my wife's K-3 interview, I printed my last three 1040 returns out of TurboTax. Is it necessary to sign these? It seems like it would not be necessary as these are simply copies. I filed electronically, so I have no signed 1040s to photocopy. What has been the experience of others that used TurboTax copies? Did you sign them and date them? What were your results?

7/30/2007 - Received by TSC

8/28/2007 - NOA-1 date - CSC

3/19/2008 - NOA2 date -CSC

I-130 held by USCIS for future AOS

I-129F

7/27/2007 - Sent I-129F Package to TSC*

7/30/2007 - Received by TSC

8/30/2007 - NOA-1 - Fee waived

3/19/2008 - NOA2

4/3/2008 - Received by NVC

4/10/2008 - Received by embassy

4/11/2008 - Faxed packet 3 forms to embassy

4/30/2008 - Appointment date assigned

6/19/2008 - Appointment at Bogota Embassy - APPROVED!!!

No touches except when I called CSC directly to inquire.

8/28/2008 - POE Houston

Still being lazy and waiting to do AOS.

*I-130 and I-129F sent together to TSC per USCIS instructions.

I remember taking some notes from you early on in the process so I just want to return the favor.

In our case the turbo tax was rejected. I signed them and that was the only way I have filed taxes for the last ten years. Luckily I received the IRS tax transcript in the mail a day before her interview and I faxed them to the hotel she wa staying at.

Our embassy was in Brazil vs Columbia so your process may be slightly diffferenct but I just it would be nice to give your a 'heads up' warning on this issue.

06-03-2008 Interview complete. Petition Approved.

06-12-2008 Visa Arrives Via Express Mail. Rio consulate used TNT consigment service.

Yes, sign them but the preferred procedure is to submit tax transcripts from the IRS. You can get them in a week free or faxed free if you are in a big hurry.

If you go with the returns, remember they aren't complete without the applicable W2's and/or 1099's etc.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
