Estimated time from packet 3 to interview notification

Hello~

Just curious how long does it take from when the embassy receives the packet 3 to when you are notified of the interview date. Do they send it back as part of packet 4? It just seems as if the closer to the end the longer it seems to be taking! Scott already had his medical and all we are waiting for is his interview.

The interview date basically IS packet 4, just so you know. Looks like you posted off your P3 2 weeks ago, and I wouldn't expect that you would have a date just yet; have a look at the 2008 Interviews thread to see how things have been progressing recently.

If you really must, for the price of a phone call to Washington DC you can harrass, I mean call and ask nicely , the Department of State and ask if a date has been assigned yet. The number is +1 202 663 1225; when it picks up, press 1, then 0 to speak to a visa specialist. Have your case number ready (it starts LND2008). I wouldn't call more than once a day, more for your own sanity than anything else!

Take it from someone who right around this time last year got her P4 -- it is a very unnerving time! It does seem to drag and drag, but you're in the home stretch. Good luck!

We sympathise with you. I check the Timelines everyday. We are also expecting our Packet 4 any day. Watching the Postman come and go each morning with no news is a Bummer!

Especially for you when you see that someone (Linda & Chad) who sent their Packet 3, 3 Days after you, received their Packet 4 on the 15th! With an interview date for the 10th June.

I find the lack of order really frustrating. It makes you wonder whether there is ANY sort of system at all.

Anyway, On the bright side....You and I MUST BE CLOSE......Musn't We??????????

We received our Packet 3 on the 15th April and returned it the same day. lol

I called the DOS line a couple of weeks later and they said it was too early to be given an interview date as it was only received by the embassy on 20th or something like that.

But the next call, they did say the interview had been scheduled!

We really haven't paid anyone off to jump the queue! Trust me!!

I found calling that number so much easier and cheaper than calling the embassy direct.

I know what you mean. That horrible post man rode right by our house AGAIN today. We mailed ours back exactly 2 weeks ago and I know its still a little soon, but you're right-the closer to the end you are the harder the waiting is.

Hey Everyone!

I just wanted to let you know that we received our notive on May 16th and have the interview for June 6th! I'm not worried seeing all the success stories on here so now we just have to wait for the house to sell and he will be here!

I am going crazy trying to get a wedding put together without dates yet! Luckily we picked an all inclusive company that will do them on short notice. It's cool you take their sailboat to an island and they marry you, then you have a huge barbeque that they set up, and they bring you back to shore and your done! His sister and family will be coming over to America for the first time so we figure it will be a fun way to get our families together and have a mini vacation together. I can't wait!

Maven, does that work for people who haved used DCF? Or do we need to call the Embassy here? Another morning and the post man went right by again. Well at least he didn't bring any bills either.

CHEAPEN THAT CALL! If you predial 0844 861 90 90.....You get routed through a company called Telediscount. Your call then only costs 1 Penny a minute. This works for ANY call to the USA.

LMAO! It worked. I called and our interview is scheduled on June 3rd. Why do I find that amusing? Well the only three days that could possibly be bad for us are May 30, June 2 & 3. There is no way Glyn can go through this appointment by himself as his anxiety would get the better of him and I will be landing at Manchester airport at 8:30 on the 3rd after a quick trip home to see my daughter and neices dance recital. LOL....typical.

Now, who do I call to change the darn interview date?

Hey, congrats Kathy! See, now don't you love those sweethearts at the DOS? I had the same thing happen to me with my date -- I was supposed to be back in America for a conference, but I dropped everything to be there on the day.
