Hi everyone this is my first time on VJ. Let me start by saying that this site is awsome!!! It has given me so much information.:thumbs: Any way I have a question,My husband and I met in the summer of 06 and we got married summer 07 in NY. He has a visiting visa, because of him being in the army in Jamaica it is very hard for me visit him as I would not get to see him, Do you guys think that it would be a problem cause I only went to Jamaica once to see him before we got married? He is planning on comming up in July for a weekend, He normaly gets a one month vacation but he was told a month ago that no one will be getting vacation anytime soon. I got his approval letter, just waiting on NVC to send further instructions

Welcome Hilary - You need to prove that it's a legitimate marriage, not how many visits you have and to where - Do you have bank accounts in common, utilities, insurance,.... pics of the two of you, affidavits from friends verifying that they have witnessed your life as a married couple,......

Hello Hilary. The amount of visits does not matter as much as proving you are in a bonafide marriage. Like Sus said...you will need to show somethings that show you are living a married life.

If you have pics of your wedding, times when the 2 of u were together...especially with friends and family present would be good.

Joint bank accounts.

Life Insurance beneficiary.

Notorized avidavits from friends an family stating the validity of your marriage.

These are just some of the things that you can use. Being that you never lived together you won't need to show things like common utilities and such nor does he need to be on your insurance policy. If you have these things thats great...but its common for many people to not have them and that is fine too.

You can do a search on VJ for "bonafide marriage" and you can read a few threads of others asking this same question. Those threads will give you a good idea as to what they used. I wouldn't worry too hard as its REALLY common to not have seen your mate in awhile.

Good luck to you and your husband!

Hi Hilary

Welcome to VJ. I just wanted to bring the military spouses thread to your attention - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...5&start=165 - its a really great place to get support from others who are in relationships with service men and women.

Good luck with your journey.

If I were you I would start finding all the phone call receipts, IM's, whatever that shows the two of you have been communicating.
