No, we didn't get any kitty insurance:-). We drove them down ourselves - 2 days of travel for 6 very unhappy cats and it didn't help that the overnight hotel had their rock band playing right outside our window for several hours after our arrival. They did have a vet check up just before we left to make sure they were healthy and I got copies of all of their vet records from my vet. You may want to send Mags a message - she brought her cats from England as well and I am sure has a lot of useful information she would be happy to share with you.

Oh she already has! She has been a life saver! I have actually found an insurance company that will insure both me and my cat though which is pretty cool! Just waiting to hear back on a few details :D

I really wish I would have stocked up on more Brasilian cut bikinis, underwear, sandals, jeans, jewelry, and hair care products. No, I'm not Brasilian, but when we lived there, I got so accustomed to these things and finding them around here is just annoyingly expensive. We're fortunate that we have an Asian Market that sells Brasilian herva mate, doce de leite, pao de queijo, and a lot of other food staples (but no cachaca), but those other things I've only seen available on the internet for 10x what I would pay in Brasil.

Of course, the reason we didn't end up bringing more of those things was because we brought a whole bunch of paperwork (my husband's degrees, certificates, etc) which weighed us down substantially.

I also regret leaving our dog there. We were assured by my mother-in-law that she would NEVER be given away; they the whole extended family loved the dog, and that my mother-in-law was especially attached to her like she's never been attached to another dog. But then my sister-in-law took our dog to her new house to protect their property, and since then they've only thought about giving her away because she's tracking mud everywhere and knocking over their fence. It only took them 5 weeks to change their mind and it pisses me off to no end! Shipping the dog now would be way too expensive and I don't know how it would affect her temperament.

We brought everything except for furniture. I called UPS, boxed up about 45 boxes, and shipped it all doen. We flew down with our 2 cats in the cabin with us under the seat. Hubby says the only thing he misses is his hockey equipment. :crying:

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

Shoes, bedsheets, skillet, picnic stove, and my daughter stuff toys (too damn expensive here  )

Picnic%20platy%20stove%20copy%20copy.gif

i don't know where to get this here.

Just about any outdoors store will have them. In fact, I'm pretty sure Wal-Mart has them.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Cat - outside cat but I had him since he was really small. I have been feeding another kitten with 1 blind eye & short tail & the cat mother - they always come to the yard together. One day, the kitten came alone (same color, short tail) - we thought the eye got better - slightly odd but think nothing about it. Until few days later, there was 2 kittens (almost same color, both short tail - one with blind eye) and a mother cat. I did not know we have been feeding 2 different kittens.

He sleeps on the front porch. Will sneak into the house just to annoy my dad..... He used to wait for me coming home. As soon as he saw my car, he will wait for me & I will let him into the car.

yuk yuk yuk - ALY - The cat was a mangy stray - stay away from that thing!

Kitchen things, the only things I have been allowing myself to buy these last few months, cos I know I'm bringing it all. But tell me - is it easy to get bun tins in the old U S of A? Tell me what specific kitcheny things are hard to find???

I haven't found anything difficult to get; there's SO much choice :)

however, every garlic press I've seen has had stupid little pin things to push the garlic through the holes (well, that's the theory), and they SUCK, so I had my mum go through my kitchen box before it shipped and find my old garlic press with the flat plate instead of pins and put it in her bag for when she comes next week ;)

that might just be a Te-jas thing though... or even just confined to the few shops I've been in ;)

Nah - the cat belonged to the guy who lived in the place before us - it was out a lot and had no-one to care for it though - the guys granddaughter who lived opposite was meant to look after it but... well :P
