Hi everyone,

I'm getting ready to fill out forms for the K1 Visa for my fiancée and have a scenario that I would like some input on. My fiancée’s family is relatively well off in a town on the outskirts of HCMC and they have a little bit of property and a few businesses. My question is that she spends all of her time at one of the business and there is always one of her workers at that address. So she suggested that I use that business address for all of the documentation because someone will always be there to receive mail and answer the phone while no one is at her home address and she basically lives at the business except for sleeping at night. So my question is: will it be a big deal if I use that business address for the I-129F and the G-325A and for all the future documents as her home address since she spends most of her time there anyway and it is assured someone will be present to receive any important mail? Will I encounter any problems later on with the interview or will the consulate check in depth to home addresses although technically her family owns both places. Does anyone know if the Household registration or National ID card list addresses? If so how big of an issue would it be if they find a discrepancy with the address on any forms compared to the Household Registration and National ID? Sorry for all the questions, any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,

We had a similar situation during our K-1 visa petition back in 2005/2006.

We listed the official registered home address on all of the application paperwork, but contacted the US Consulate in HCMC after our case was transferred there and provided them with a reliable mailing address in HCMC where we would be sure to receive the packet 3 and packet 4 documentation they mailed.

I (petitioner at the time) was living/working in HCMC, so I requested that my office address be listed as the mailing address. We received everything there without any problems.

Hope this helps...Good luck to both of you!

Hi, my question would be: I have a mailing address and a home address. Tan has sent me packages and letters to my mailing address but NOT my home address... is that going to confuse the consulate when I use those letters and package slips that show my mailing address address and not the address listed as my home address? How do I handle that? Thanks!

just to make my question clearer, what I mean is that on my credit card statement (which I was going to include for proof as it shows all my vietnam charges) is my mailing address, NOT my home address. On my calling plan it also shows my mailing address and not my home address. Is this going to be a problem? I was thinking about just using my mailing address as my home address but my home address is a HOUSE, which probably looks better than an address that looks like an apartment #. Am I being too #######?
