jen i'm so jealous you're traveling!!! I can't wait until hubby gets a job so we can figure out his schedule and plan some long weekends to NYC! When I think of where I want to stay though I'm always torn because the Embassy Suites in Jersey has a fantastic view, though it's not right in Manhattan you know?

where in jersey is that hotel? if its in hoboken, the path train gets you to mid town very quickly. hotels in NYC are ridiculous $$$! hope you two get to come down for a weekend soon! good luck!

It's an Azalea, and a quite mature one as well. it's grown into the side of the house and probably has some root constriction. I actually like mature plantings like that for some reason, even though it's not ideal-- they are essentially bonsaied.
