Hello all....hope someone can assist with my query....awhile ago I went to apply or my SSN and when I was there and provided the clerk with my Visa, Passport and I-94 he said that he couldn't process my application for my SSN due to the fact that my I-94 was missing one digit from the pre-printed digits found at the top....I have ten numbers, not eleven.

Well my husband and I thought this guy just didn't know what he was doing and opted out to go to another office and apply (which we still have yet to do btw.....)

By chance tonight I started filling out the AOS paperwork and while doing research I stumbled across some examples of other I-94's and they all have eleven pre-printed digits found at the top.....

DO I have an issue? If I do who in the hell do I begin calling to get this issue corrected???

Thanks for the help. :bonk:

Which number seems to be missing?

Normally have 9 numbers and 2 more off to the right

123456789 01

"In some cases, the pre-printed admission number on the I-94 form may have an “X” instead of a numeric. If this is the case, enter a zero instead of the “X” when entering the admission number for a SAVE initial electronic verification request. Also, in some cases the pre-printed admission number on the I-94 form may have only 10 digits. If this is the case, enter a “0” (zero) as the first digit of the admission number then enter the 10 digits pre-printed on the I-94 form so that 11 digits are entered on the initial verification request."

Now as far as applying for the SSN, if the I-94 has an A# they can use that instead of the I-94 # if the above situation is not the case and the A# has preference over the I-94# if a document has both.
