Hi guys,

I am new to this portal and have found so much information from your discussions! Thank you. I just received the approval for my I130 and I129F which were both approved on May 8. Although I do feel I have a fairly good idea from your conversations, what should be my next steps as I wait to hear from NVC? I am starting to get the police report, birth certificates etc. ready. Do these need to be sent to NVC (the NVC website asks for the originals) or are these originals brought to the visa interview?

With the K3, do I send anything to NVC or do they just directly send all the materials to the consulate in India, and then my wife brings all the evidence and forms to the consulate?

Thanks for any information that you all could share!

You don't really need to do much.. If your I-129f got approved.. then it will make its way to the Embassy pretty quickly. As soon as embassy receives it, they will mail the benefiary a Packet 3 - (I would not wait to receive this, contact the Embassy and ask if they mailed it out, if they have, then print it online and send it back to them).

Once they receive the Packet 3, they will send out a Packet 4 which contains the Interview Date. At this point, she needs to get the Passport Clearance Certificate, etc.

So if you are going the K-3 route, then all the originals need to be provided to the beneficiary, as well as an Affidavit of Support package.

The I-130 will just sit at the NVC until they send out AOS Fee Bill... which you probably don't want to pay because you're already going the K-3 route. It would just be a waste of money unless you really want to continue the CR-1 route.

Congratulations!!

We are on the same time line. Both the I-130 and I-129F notices were dated the 8th and the hard copies arrived today. An email was sent on the 6th that the I-129F was approved. None was sent on the I-130, and the case status online hasn't been updated. That is a moot point now.

It's my understanding that for the K-3 you wait until the consulate sends packet three to the beneficiary. Check your consulate's website for the exact procedure. We are checking with the National Visa Center shortly to get the case number, as we need to change our DIL's mailing address. The NVC center process moves very quickly for the K-3. In Thailand, packet three information is all on their website, and there is no need to wait for it to arrive in the mail, which makes the turn around time faster. In our experience the the mail there has been somewhat unreliable anyway.

It does feel good to at least have this leg of the journey complete! The CSC must be cranking approvals out at this point. I'm sure it doesn't feel that way to those who haven't received their's yet.

I am representing the "kids", and am struggling with three way communication. Our son is at a very remote job site in the mountains in a hermit-like situation. It feels good to know that the paperwork was acceptable. I would have felt badly if they had been denied on the basis of a mis-step on my part.

May the rest of your journey be smooth sailing!

Hi there! Congratulations to you too!!

It does feel good to have completed this part of the journey. I took a sabbatical so I could be with my wife. She is pregnant and is scheduled to deliver our child in late June. So I am hoping that everything goes smoothly from here on.

So I guess the next thing to do is to send out packet 3 information to the local consulate, once we know that the K3 case has been forwarded by NVC to the local consulate.

It must be a lot of work and attention to details for you getting everything ready through three-way communication.

Wish you all the best. We are almost there!

Blessings on your little one and your wife during this time. It so good that you can be there with them.

I called the NVC just now to see if they have the case number, but they don't have it yet (I need to change my DIL's mailing address). What a breath of fresh air! The guy told me I could call back anytime. Amazing! The USCIS could take some lessons. Warm fuzzies make for happy customers.

Again. blessings
