They say it, not a [conservative "intelligence blogger" that aligns himself with Bob Novak and Bill O-tamtrum-Reilly] fool with a vendetta against any group that supports racial equality.

I'd rather take their word based on what they actually do and stand for, not more BS coming from people with clear agendas of divisive politics.

you can take their word if you'd like, i prefer to examine the evidence and draw my own conclusions.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Perhaps these guys can help you formulate a conclusion... of course, I see them as nutjob bozos looking for anti-immigrant self gratification, but hey... you are entitled to your opinion. I prefer to stick to the actual source... like NCLR (La Raza).

You may not be into it but doing the anti La Raza dance based on WND isn't exactly kosher:

http://shop.wnd.com/store/item.asp?DEPARTM...mp;ITEM_ID=1836

By Glenn Spencer

Could Mexico retake the southwestern United States? Not only are the Mexicans capable, but an invasion is underway, insists immigration expert Glenn Spencer.

In this well-documented video, Spencer unveils the aims of a radical movement that identifies itself as "America's Palestinians." Their ultimate goal is to reclaim the American Southwest, including California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and parts of Colorado and Texas. Hispanic activists refer to the former Mexican territory as Aztlan, the mythical place of origin of the Aztec people.

But is this merely the irrational scheme of a fringe group? Using original footage, Spencer shows how the pronouncements of Mexican officials and their policies support a reconquest of the Southwest. Perhaps even more importantly, Spencer contends, U.S. immigration policies and lax enforcement are paving the way for this invasion.

Spencer is president of California-based Voice of Citizens Together and host of the popular talk show American Patrol.

In Conquest of Aztlan you'll see how:

* Former Mexican President Ernesto Zedillo made a de facto declaration of war on the U.S.

* The Mexican government helped quash an immigration measure passed by the people of California.

* A fifth column of subversives is plotting to recolonize the United States.

* Mexican officials prepare citizens to invade the U.S.

* Mexican anti-Americanism revealed itself after the Sept. 11 attack.

* Immigrants in the U.S. are encouraged to vote in the interests of Mexico.

* U.S. policies ultimately are leading to a breakup of the country.

by Voice of Citizens Together/American Patrol. 48 minutes. DVD

NOTE: Purchasing "Conquest of Aztlan (DVD)" from WND's online store also qualifies you to receive three FREE issues of WND's acclaimed monthly print magazine, Whistleblower. Watch for the FREE offer during checkout.

do they need to lynch someone to be considered racist?

The KKK hasn't done an actual lynching in decades, so they must not be racists anymore, they're a legit "activist" group now ;)

the point is, one does not need to lynch someone to be a racist organization ;)

Points to ponder...

Does the term "la Raza" include the people of Peru, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Argentina, Chile, Dominican Republic, Venezuela among others?

If it does, are German-Chileans, Italian-Argentineans, Lebanese-Colombians, Danish-Venezuelans also included under the umbrella of "la Raza"?

Are emigrants from Brasil considered as "la Raza" as well?

Do the facts that I speak Spanish, know the histories of Mexico and other Latin American countries, know and include in my life the cultures of various Latin American countries make me a member of "la raza"?

Are the indigenous peoples of California considered part of "la raza"? California was once part of Mexico...

Or does the term "la raza" simply refer to the indigenous and mestizo peoples of Mexico?

Your question is very to the point my friend  . What is "La Raza"? According to the NCLR website:

Many people incorrectly translate our name, “La Raza,” as “the race.” While it is true that one meaning of “raza” in Spanish is indeed “race,” in Spanish, as in English and any other language, words can and do have multiple meanings. As noted in several online dictionaries, “La Raza” means “the people” or “the community.” Translating our name as “the race” is not only inaccurate, it is factually incorrect. “Hispanic” is an ethnicity, not a race. As anyone who has ever met a Dominican American, Mexican American, or Spanish American can attest, Hispanics can be and are members of any and all races.

The term “La Raza” has its origins in early 20th century Latin American literature and translates into English most closely as “the people,” or, according to some scholars, “the Hispanic people of the New World.” The term was coined by Mexican scholar José Vasconcelos to reflect the fact that the people of Latin America are a mixture of many of the world’s races, cultures, and religions. Mistranslating “La Raza” to mean “the race” implies that it is a term meant to exclude others. In fact, the full term coined by Vasconcelos, “La Raza Cósmica,” meaning the “cosmic people,” was developed to reflect not purity but the mixture inherent in the Hispanic people. This is an inclusive concept, meaning that Hispanics share with all other peoples of the world a common heritage and destiny.

Now, you and I can have different opinions -as valid one as the other- on what "La Raza" is. I for one think of it as the wonderful melange of our traditions, the subtleties and beauties of our lenguaje, the richness of our culture and History, etc.

I think they answer the referrence quite directly on their website:

We recognize that some people might be confused about our organization’s name, our mission, and our work. Much of this is understandable. Compared to some of our venerable counterparts in the civil rights and advocacy community, we are a relatively young institution, representing Latinos, an historically disadvantaged and oft-misunderstood ethnic minority. We have a Spanish term in our name, “La Raza” (meaning “the people” or “community”), which is often mistranslated. Furthermore, we are engaged in some of the most controversial issues of our time, which we believe is essential if we are to stay true to our mission.
