Shoes are off at the door for everyone. We each have our own house slippers. You didn't have that option so I chose the socks on option.

No socks to bed! Though sometimes after work, and before changing into house clothes hubby would walk around with his dress socks and boxers to "cool off." He's just too hot. ^_^

We both have machine washable travel slippers that we bring whenever we have to stay overnight at other people's homes/hotels, and for changing into on plane rides.

I usually wear my shoes in the house.

I don't normally go barefoot outside, but that's because there tends to be prickly weeds in the yard as well as nails and such from all the work we've been doing on the house.

I almost always wear socks to bed. When I was an auto mechanic several years ago, I dropped a 3/4" impact wrench ("air gun") on my foot and now 2 of my toes don't work right. It always feels like I'm walking on my toes, which I am to a degree. Wearing socks alleviates that. Wearing shoes alleviates it even more. Ergo, I wear shoes in the house and socks to bed. Plus, my feet get cold. Poor circulation due to years of smoking. Also, I think it's a security thing. If there's a tornado or a fire and we have to exit the house quickly, at least I'll have socks on. lol

What I really have to ask though, is this: If y'all don't wear shoes in the house cuz it's "gross" or whatever, how do you justify walking around outside barefoot and then coming into the house? Feet seem to get a lot dirtier than shoes, from my experience. What about people with really bad foot odor? What about foot sweat?

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

I walk around barefoot or in socks or with slippers. Never shoes I wear outside my apt, never never.

A. walks around his house in shoes and he occasionally remembers I don't like it so he takes them off in his room. I already told him that when we move in together shoes will be banned inside the house  so he's practising already I guess.
