Neil wears his shoes ALL THE TIME and it drives me absolutely crazy! He only takes them off to get in bed. He also wears socks when he sleeps. This is something I cannot do! I could be sleeping completely naked and just wearing socks and I would be soooo hot.

Also, I walk outside barefoot all the time and Neil thinks it's really gross. I'd rather just skip the step of putting my shoes on if it's going to take a second to find them.

What do you do?

No shoes in the house  During the winter I will wear socks, in the summer I go barefoot. Same for wearing socks to bed.

I NEVER walk outisde barefoot in the US, but I do sometimes in Ghana.

I usually walk around the house barefoot but if it is cold I will wear socks or slippers.. i only wear socks to bed if it is really cold... I can't sleep if my feet are cold...

I sometimes walk outside barefoot but it really depends where I am.... like I wouldn't walk outside barefoot where we live now :P but I usually have a pair of slip on sandals by the door in case i need to go outside...

we have a massive yard so normally I will go outside barefoot to water some plants or put something on the grill. it's not like I'm walking into a store with no shoes on

Shoes are not allowed in the house, we have a shoe rack just inside the door. Socks outdoors only if its in my own backyard. And socks in bed only if its really cold, otherwise no socks in bed.

lol.. the only reason I wouldn't go outside barefoot here is because where we live is kind of ghetto and who knows what is in the grass plus the neighbors have their dog and they don't always pick up his poop ....

 doesn't the landlord notice dog poop since you're not allowed to have dogs?

no, because they are never here.... they don't live in the building .. part of me thinks that maybe they got special permission to have the dog.. I think they have been living here a long time now...

No shoes in the house! This is one rule my parents were very strict about and I am happy to continue it. Fortunately Alex's family follows this rule too. He's slightly more civilised and has a shoe rack whereas my housemate and I just have a pile of shoes by the door.

I haven't worn slippers in years; socks suffice. My bare feet are ugly so I never walk around in bare feet, whether it's indoors or out. However, I do sleep with bare feet. They have to be allowed to breathe at some point!

EDIT: I also ask guests to remove their shoes. No one's ever minded complying. I think it's quite a common rule here, though.

I used to have a shoe rack, but since we've moved into a bigger house now we (in theory) use the closet in the foyer. In reality, there's a pile of shoes in the entry way :)

P started this. I never cared before and where I am from in Louisiana I would never dare go outside without at least flip flops because I'm terrified of roaches.
