For those who have had an RFE, once you submitted the required information, is there some kind of guarantee that they will have a decision on your case in some amount of time.

In a previous post from a few days back, a VJ-er had mentioned that USCIS had told them that now that all the required info was submitted, the petitioner would know of USCIS's decision within 60 days.

That struck me as odd, because USCIS never gives deadlines like that. Anyone heard of this before?

Yes, I've heard it numerous times. I'd re-think your "never". Usually there is decision within a couple weeks of returning RFE requests.

Yes for some there's a decision after submission, for ours they didn't. They didn't even resumed our case until we called them up and told them we already sent the docs, then that's the time they change the status to "case resumed processing" and told us to wait for 60 days for a decision, but 60 days have passed and there's none, nada.

In our case we received our RFE request April 21/2008 then we send the information needed April 22, then in April 29 the USCIS send me and E-mail that they continue the process, and if in case they don't answer within 60 days then they told us to call, But my husband called USCIS May 02/2008 just to check if their any other RFE coming, they told us NO, so we wait until May 6, 2008 we received an approval of our NOA2 in our mail box. In our USCIS site the information still the same" case pending" never change.

Thanks so much for your responses guys!

I saw touches on my I-130 everyday since Friday (none so far on my 129f), so I figured I'd give the NVC 800 number a call and see what was going on, which is how i found out about the RFE. I still haven't received the hard copy, so I don't know exactly what they need. But I hope its nothing too major, and I can turn it around quick, and finally see an approval soon after!

Wish me luck!
