My Interview

sorry for this informal posting, i'm rushing for work but wanted to post before i forget any details.

got to the INS office around 8.20 am, waited for about 35 minutes. officer asked me to raise right hand to swear i will tell the truth, etc.

he asked the following:

1. my current address

2. have you taken any trips outside the u.s.

3. where do you work now

4. can i see your greencard

he took out a piece of paper and then asked me these:

1. how many stars are there in the flag

2. who is the president of the u.s. now

3. what is the most important right given to a u.s. citizen

4. what are the colors of the flag

5. who was the first president of the u.s.

6. who is commander in chief of the u.s. military

7. do you support the government of the u.s.

he then asked me to write: the boys brought home a newspaper. i also had to sign my application.

then he said congratulations, you passed. he said wait for the oath taking ceremony letter. and i know i bolted out there with smiles from ear to ear.

thanks guys for all your help!!! i will let you know when i get my letter!

The correct answer they want is the right to vote, ha, I kind of thought it was the right to bear arms, but that right is rapidly being taken away.

Is a trick question, if you follow the news, it's Karl Rove, but I tell my wife not to pay attention to the news and just remember the answers given on the sample test questions.

i brought with me tons of paperwork, from k1 to the citizenship paperwork but the officer never asked to see anything else except my GC. not complaining, though.

Ha, I do the same thing now with my overweight extra fat brief case, the one time I didn't was the one time they wanted to see extra papers. But were kind enough to let me fax them when I arrived home to save another 420 mile trip.

i am glad i brought the paperwork with me because i saw a lady go in the interview room with no paperwork (hands empty), she came out upset and showed her husband the paper they give you at the end of the interview; then she and her husband searched her purse and tried to go inside again to talk to the officer. so i am assuming they need something from her. she was all upset but i don't understand how you can go for an interview and not bring any paperwork - no matter what you are applying for.
