Passport name Change

Now that we're married and Im living in Texas (from the UK) how do I get my passport changed to my married name, anyone know?

You must make an application for a new passport though the British Embassy in Washington DC. Check out www.britainusa.com for more information.

Make sure you have some other form of ID before you send off your current passport. Contact your local UK Embassy and request the forms needed. Good Luck

You can download the forms from the website..... it takes about 2 weeks to get your new passport.... they send the old one back with the new so you will still have your visa for your interview...

I had my UK drivers licence as ID so had no issue about sending it off.

thanks all...

im planning on going back to England in about 7 weeks though, so I dont want to send off my passport just yet until ive come back, does anyone know if its ok to travel on passport with my maiden name?

your flight ticket must be in the same name as your passport... if your AP is in your married name then you will need to carry a copy of your marriage certificate with you.....

Nope Im waiting for it to come through, if it doesnt then i wont be going just hoping and wishing it will be here by then !

thanks for the tip on my flight ticket being in my maiden name - i never thought of that !
