Interview soon but still error on birth date

My wife goes to her interview mid June and her birth date is still wrong on all forms. When I submitted my DS-230 packet to the NVC I wrote a letter explaining there was an error on the day of her birth date...the numbers were transposed. I thought that would fix the problem.

I just received a copy of packet 4 (interview letter) and her birth date is still showing up wrong. What should we do?

I could email the embassy or let my wife address the issue at the interview but I'm afraid that might cause a problem or delay in her getting the visa.

Any suggestions? What happens if we do nothing? Can she still get her visa with an error on birth date? Can we fix it when she arrives in the USA?

if her birthday is 06.08.1971 is it listed as 08.06.1971?

No...06.21.1971 is shown as 06.12.1971

I have read about where slight name spelling differences caused additional processing for a redo on the name check... If the name check is performed in conjunction with the DOB, maybe it will cause a delay as they may need to re-do.

You may find it easier to have her "legally" change her DOB to match the mistake... In the FSU you can do just about anything
