Just out of curiousity I am wondering if (assuming all the paperwork etc is in order and with no RFE's) a decision is generally quicker when the applicant has an interview.

Presumably the same evidence required for presentation at the interview to establish proof of bona fide marriage (ie: joint residence, joint bank accounts, insurance, utility bills etc) is also required by CSC???

We have an interview in mid June and, assuming that the interviewing officer is happy with everything and that we don't need to provide any further documentation, I would hope that we would get a decision shortly after.

Any thoughts?

Hmm I'm curious as well.

I'm adjusting status and everything I'm submitting is what I'd bring to an interview. Photos, utility bills, lease, insurance all that. So I'm curious as to what's the difference really that requires an interview.

I assume if they hit a red flag that's why they interview. Aside from that, I'd think not being interviewed would be a quicker process.

Yes maybe sending that extra paperwork helps - I just submitted the stuff that was specifically asked for (tax forms, marriage certificate, copy of I94 etc) with the AOS/EAD/AP application.

We haven't had any RFEs at any stage in the process and can't see why we would raise any red flags so hopefully we'll get our approval soon!

No I didn't file I-30 - I arrived on a K-1 visa and got married here in the US so filed I-485, I-131 and I-765.

As you say it does seem to be different for everyone! I'll be glad when I can finally forget USCIS until Removal of Conditions time comes around!

It will be interesting to see what happens with those of us transferred and the timelines. We only sent what was asked for, but we do have the other documentation if we end up having an interview after all. I am not sure why some get transferred and others don't, I only wish we could figure out the pattern.

From what I have been reading on VJ, if you have an interview an all your documents are in order and complete, they will approve you right there and you will have your greencard in the mail soon after that. That's if you have cleared your FBI namecheck by the time you have your interview.

My case was approved without an interview, all my papers were just fine, no RFE's whatsoever and it still took forever to get approved at CSC.

I don't think there really is a rule to anything when it comes to USCIS, some get approved really fast after their case got transfered, others wait forever.

Same with people who have an interview. Sometimes it only takes a couple of months to have an interview, others wait more than a year.

Maybe it is because we are both transferred due to being at Norfolk lol. I don't care, just want the AOS by the end of summer so we can plan our Christmas family vacation to somewhere.

It depends on many things including but not limited to how busy the local office is... some local offices may be scheduling interviews a month out, some several months out... some may be very busy and only have room for some interviews or not be scheduling interviews at all and then you go to CSC...

YMMV

Since AP does not have any additional fee attached anymore (other than passport photos, postage and copying costs) why wait?
