Eighty-two percent of Americans now say the country's seriously off on the wrong track, up 10 points in the last year to a point from its record high in polls since 1973.

...

While 95 percent of Democrats and 86 percent of independents say the country's off on the wrong track, this eases to 62 percent of Republicans and 66 percent of conservatives.

They didn't ask enough Gary's. :P

Believing the country is on the wrong track is not the same as trusting the Democrats to put it on the right track.

Yep, It may not be going in the direction most people like but Obama would put it on the same track as an oncoming train. Like I said, change for change sake isn't a good thing.

Right. Americans will have a clear choice this November, vote for continuing Bush's economic policies and war in Iraq, or vote for change. It's over before it started.

What is this change you keep talking about? Letting Iraq sink into civil war and allowing Iran to take over? Raising taxes and punishing the very business' that provide the jobs? It isn't over by a long shot.

You are over thinking this Gary. Fortunately, it will be pretty clear and simple for the voters in November.

Overthinking? What I just said would be simplistic. I would say your not thinking at all. That is exactly what Obama will do. When the voters realize this they will run from him leaving only the hard left. McCain will garner the right and the moderates. Face it man, Obama is so far left he will not attract anyone but the dem base.

Gary, the voters will decide who our next President will be based on those two issues - the economy and the war in Iraq. McCain has said he will continue the course on those two Bush policies while polls have shown overwhelmingly that on those two issues, Americans want a change.

Maybe, but not the change Obama wants. That would be worse than what we have now.

Unfortunately, the Patriot Act is part OF the Sh!t storm. Perhaps that's why the overwhelming majority of Americans think Bush and Co have done such a wonderful job on task.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.
