two things

1) is there website where i can check status of my ssn application?

2) we went to ssn office today. lady put all of my wife's info in the system. then she told us that she sees my information in the system instead of my wife's information. She told me somebody put my info instead of my wife's info in the system. she also said this is not a big thing. it happens all the time.

she send some electronic varification email and she told us to call back in few days to get the staus. did this happen to anybody else?

Right, there is no online system. When we applied for my hubby's SSN, the person who helped us said that we could call the office to check his status. I'm not sure if this is common practice. It wouldn't hurt to try. I would definitely give it a week or 2 before calling them. Its not the quickest process.

1. No

2. Never heard or seen this happen, since the info in the verification system would be from your immigration documents, i.e. I-94, EAD card or I-551.

3. Your status is listed as K-3, do you have an EAD card or I-551? If not you probably aren't going to be assigned an SSN.

4. Unless the office gave you a number to call at that office other than the general public number, you will be better off going into the office to find out what's going on. Plus if you are assigned an SSN it can't be given out over the phone.
