PLEASE HELP ASAP - birds

the big one died 2 days ago :( nothing was wrong with her on the outside...maybe she had some internal injuries, poor thing she never called me to feed her, i had to kind of force her to eat.

and the little one is still going strong and calls me to feed her every 30 min-1 hr. i give her bread and bird cereal and worm treats and she loves them. so far so good with her...she's tring to walk some and wash herself

it was very weird with the big birdie...she like waited for me for an hour to hold her and as soon as i took her in my hands , she just stretched a wing and a leg and she was gone...like she fell asleep or something and i guess she didnt wanna die alone

im gonna wait a couple more days with the little one and then ill post some pics...im very superstitious, so i dont wanna jinks her or something

that's sad. i had a blue jay under similar circumstances, but it died too.

i'm not real sure how old they have to be to gain their coloring that indicates the sex.

Oft times baby birds are either pushed out of their nest by the parents or siblings. Sometimes they're making an attempt to fly, and can't get back up to the nest. Once you've touched one, it's hard to get either the parents or the siblings to accept them anymore. It's the law of nature when some baby birds do not survive. Just being out of the nest, and being very small, it's possible the parent was out foraging for food when you found them, and they were being looked after. Only parents of baby birds can teach a baby what to do once out of the nest. You may well feed this one bird that's survived, however it's losing valuable lessons that only a parent can teach such as flying, finding food, remaining safe from predators. Maybe leave the young one alone for a few days and see if it's adopted by an adult bird.
