Ok first off let me say moving twice in less then week is hard on a person. I sold my house so had to get out of it before we were ready to make the big more so, the kids, dog, bird, hamster, cats and myself moved in with my parents and my crabby sister. Charles and his mom arrived at my parents May 4th my father insisted they stay there too. (sister well beyond pissed haha) We picked up a 6x12 U-haul trailer and loaded it, the truck and his mom's care monday then went to the casino for a bit.

We left at 7:00am May 6th. Got to the border and the border guard was like what do we have going on here? We told him we were activating a k1 and 4 k2's and how 2 of my kids where in the other car behind us and he wasa releived he didnt have to do anything told us to park and go inside.

We get inside sit down and was asked to wait in another waiting area so they can do their shift change stuff. The guy waves to us to come back in and they started pretty much right away. One guy was trying to joke around with the kids saying 2 of them would have to stay cause they only do 3 a day. Well they didnt think much of that joke. We had one guy who knew how to process the k1 and he was showing 3 others how to do it so we had 3 ppl processing them so it didnt take too long at all. I was asked where my husband was, I looked at him funny and pointed over and said my fiance is sitting there with his mom and my kids then he left. They were all pretty friendly and told us the thing about how we got 90 days to get married and not to wait till the last minute so it doesnt cause problems. How I cant come back till i get my papers all that stuff. Oh ya i didnt notice if anyone else said this before but my k1 and the kids k2's all say multiple entry on it (the paper the stapled in the passport too tired cant think of what its called). Anyway the guy said it says that but its only good one way. I wasnt going to try it anyways but thought it was weird.

Well were told we can go so we leave and get all into the truck and car just get to to toll booth and they stopped us, we forgot the bird and the Vet finally showed up. So I walk back with the guy and hes like sorry I didnt know about the bird. The first guy we had didnt tell him and we forgot with all the exitement. He was saying they get a handful of these a year and how they got that handfull all at once this time, and how if i didnt come by and give them all this exitement they would of had a boring day. He also said cause we didnt do anything wrong they dont have any paper work to do lol.

The bird was in the car and they didnt even get out of the parking, we moved the car to the garage and the vet came out looked at the bird for 2 mins and then we went in filled out the papers took my 25$ and we left. This time they told me good luck with the drive and they werent going to stop us again.

So off we go 36hours 177 dead critter's, 115 live critters and we finally made it to Arkansas and man going from 2c to god its hot that fast has messed up my allergies but i dont miss the cold.

Ok i'm off to read up on some of what i missed.

Danielle

Glad it went rather well. Congrats

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Welcome home - and yeah, I know what it means to go from Ontario cool Spring to the South's hot Spring! Allergens are currently high at the moment so yeah, you will notice that too. Well done to travel that far with so many! Relax, now - you've more than earned it!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
