Which Service Center Should I File At?

First, hello to everyone (as a new forum poster). I have a question that hopefully can be answered:

I am in the process of gathering the required documents to file a K-1 Visa for my fiance, but I'm unsure on which service center I should file at. Currently, I am stationed in Jacksonville, FL in the military, but I've just moved out of my apartment and am living with another servicemember temporarily, as I will be transferring to California (leaving the military) in July.

As such, I'm a little unsure on whether or not I should send the Visa package to the California center or the Vermont center. I am going to fill out the information with the assumption that I am residing at my California address (technically, as a servicemember, I still AM a resident of California?), but I'm not sure what I should do. The address in California is also where my fiance and I will be living.

Thanks for any input. I imagine that this may seem like a stupid question and I'm sorry in advance if indeed is.

Regards.

See the tabs at the top?

:guides:

There is a link in the K1 guides based on which State you live in, it shows you which service center to file at.

Best of luck.

What is your "home of record" for military purposes? It sounds like it's CA. That would be the address I would use.

You might just note this on an addendum to your application and they shouldn't have a problem with it. The USCIS

military hot line should be able to verify this for you. We moved countless times in ten years while in the military and our legal address always remained the same. Otherwise is can be very confusing.

Have a smooth journey!
