Hallo all. Even though we havent had our NOA1 yet. Can i get my vaccinations done at my local GP just now or do i have to wait nearer the time for the interview at the embassy?

Also what vaccinations is actually required? And one more question lol. What medical documents is needed for when i get my medical? I was going to get a copy of my medical records about 3 years ago and they were going to charge me about 100 GBP ####### i thought, i ain't paying that.

Thanks

See here: http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/...ccinechart.html

For most people on here (i.e. 19-49 years old), there are generally only two needed -- the Tdap and the MMR. Chicken pox vaccination is also required, but since the vaccine is not available in the UK, you can't have it. However, if you have had chicken pox, the doctors at Knightsbridge will take your word for it. You can have the vaccines done now, in a month, whenever -- you just need to have proof with you when you go to the medical. Usually, they'll either give you a printout at the GPs or a little booklet. If you're older than 49, have a look at the charts to see if there's anything else you need.

You do not need to produce medical records at the visa medical. The only exception is if you have had a major medical incident in the past, or if you suffer/have suffered from mental illness. In these cases you will need a letter from your GP or specialist explaining what the course of treatment was, the outcome and your prognosis.

Edited to add: I noticed you're a male beneficiary, so I didn't mention anything about the HPV vaccine, which is for women only.

you have to have had the jabs within the last 5 years so you'll be fine to get them done at your GP. depending on your age theres only 3 needed. Tdap, Pollio, and MMR.

I haven't heard this before... were you told that at Knightsbridge? I'm only curious as I'm thinking about all the people who had jabs when they were kids, and then can bring a vaccination booklet that proves that to the medical. It also isn't mentioned on the website either, nor were we told that last year. Has this changed?

My doctor also said that my MMR and TDAP vaccinations from 1999 would be OK so I only have a record of them for my medical to show that I have had them.

just curious...say someone has been diagnosed with an illness recently and put on medication for it...will this affect the final decision, if they have a letter from a doctor stating so?

The MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella) vaccine is a one off like the TB jab.
