oh wow. I wonder too how much money does he make. Doesn't it require for a family to make at least 50K a year to send 1 kid to college? Sending 18 of them, besides food, clothing, entertainment, oh wow :o

You think these kids are actually going to college??? Only one wants to do anything that requires a college degree. The oldest wants to be a lawyer and God help us all if he does that!

Both Duggars are real estate agents, and both also host Bible-based “Financial Freedom Seminars.” They also own commercial properties. From 1999-2002, Jim Bob served in the Arkansas House of Representatives. He lost a bid for the U.S. Senate in 2002.

Seriously. At least they take care of their family.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Ya, they aren't on welfare etc. but they ARE part of a growing population of super conservative christians which I personally feel are trying to limit my freedom to live my life the way I want. The husband has ran for state office. If he can seperate his personal religious feelings and moral beliefs from what his constituants want, then all the power to them. However is someone this dedicated to their ideaology going to be able do that?

Oh cool! Thanks, I couldn't find that anywhere.

They do seem to take very good care of their kids, I read their typical day and I was very impressed.

Here's more to them:

Michelle’s been pregnant for 135 months of her life.

Average number of months between Duggar births is 18.

Estimated number of Duggar diapers to date is 90,000.

The Duggars do approximately 200 loads of laundry each month.

The Duggars feed their entire brood for less than $2,000 per month.

The only person in the Duggar family whose name doesn’t start with "J" is Mom — Michelle.

Every Duggar child learns to play both violin and piano.

The family organizes their household chores by assigning "jurisdictions," so everyone knows exactly what their daily responsibilities are.

The Duggars estimate all the family members combined have worked approximately 39,000 total hours building their new house.

The Duggars are debt free.

I wonder how many times local property taxes have gone up to fund the extra burden on the schools in their area?

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

if i remember correctly they are home schooled,..

Well that's okay then.

I just hate when people have a ton of kids and then make everyone else suffer due to increased schooling costs, more students per teacher, etc.

What do you consider "a ton"? 4, 5, 6?

All long as the parents are able to take care of their children without government assistance, then I guess there is absolutely nothing wrong in churning out a baby every year. I think the children must suffer in this family however. Surely these parents cannot afford adequate time with each child, and what about college fees etc? The mother surely must be exhausted from being constantly pregnant. It makes one wonder why they bother.

Why "God help us all" if he becomes a lawyer?

The dad was an elected state representative. They are debt-free, they know how to budget and they home school their children. They teach their children about kindess and caring for others.

So what if they are fundamental Christian? I don't necessarily agree with their ways, but they aren't a "burden" to anyone. And I'd rather have fundamental Christians breeding than people who leave their babies in dumpsters or better yet, have 10 kids, live on Welfare, and let their kids run wild.

I want more kids, maybe 2 more (I have 2 already) if it's financially feasible, but some people think that's crazy. My grandpa was one of 10. My dad was one of 8. I'm one of 7.....

I just don't understand why people are so judgmental about this family. At least they actually do live what they preach and aren't hypocrits.
