TSG Consulting, a political consulting firm with offices in Charleston and Beckley, released a statewide poll showing Clinton with a commanding 40-point lead over Obama, 63 percent to 23 percent. The telephone poll, conducted by Orion Strategies Saturday among 300 Democratic and independent voters, had a margin of error of nearly 6 percent.

Tom Susman, president of TSG, said if that vote holds true on Election Day it would give Clinton 18 pledged delegates to Obama's 10.

But Big Dog, he can't win "hard working white Americans"! ;)

I see, there are no hard-working white Americans in KS, IA, ID, MO, VA, WI, WA, WY, UT, ND, NE, CO, MN, ME, DE and CT. Who wants to go on record calling the white population in those states something other than hard working Americans?

I hate to tell you this, but you can't apply any normal demographic group to the residents of WV.

Rebecca, are you referring to the analysis in this thread? -- http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=126825

I don't think so.

WV historically has gone Democratic.

But....they haven't the last couple of elections.

Much of the population here is very conservative; very patriotic; very working class. And that's across the board young and old alike. It's a very mixed bag because most Republican economic ideals don't work for these people, or don't apply to them. Yet the gong-banging of the neo-cons has attracted them with conservative idealogy and patriotism.

I'd say in WV people very much vote based upon the candidates 'ideals' and not policy.

I hate to say it, but MANY people in my state won't vote for Oboma because he is a black man. Those same people, if they are diehard Democrats, will vote for Clinton instead - but they will do that with their teeth clenched because she's a woman.

In the General election this fall, the State will go to McCain.

Ditto. I'm from Charleston originally and I can attest to everything that RJ posted. This is about race in my book. Most people there HATE Hillary, but will take her over anyone of color. That would include Jesus himself if he came back and did indeed turn out to be, GASP, Middle Eastern!
