If you want treaties like NAFTA to benefit all across the board, you have to add provisions that will allow citizens of such a "bilateral" arrangement to seek proportional benefit where they can get it.

Otherwise, the arrangement is bipolar and prone to inequalities in the flow of economics.

Well what the heck is the Mexican government doing? Kids are being exploited in their country and, once again, America is to blame.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Of course. That must be it.

Funny how every single South American I know, or have come across, always seem to blame America for something.

You seem to know quite a lot of people- even for yet another tangential approach to tangentializing the actual topic at hand. And yes, that sure is it.

And Mexico is in North America. Hence North America Free Trade Agreement, as the OP talks about it.

Lucky for Mexico hey. So why are they still so corrupt and poor. Or did I just answer my own question..

Thanks for posting this Steven. Indeed, it is effed up. Our agricultural ways are not even comparable to agroindustrial production type. Children working the fields has always been part of family dynamics in the rural areas - much more so in the case of girls. Sadly enough, parents actually believe there is not much to gain by educating their female offspring :(

Much remains to be done.

Damn competition. They should be happy being our bellhops in Cancún and our s$@ts$ in Tijuana. What's all this business about wanting to live like human beings and providing for their families? Nonsense I tell you...
