Hi kaffy thats the same page I printed out and taking with me tonight to the police station :-) they should put on the website that you also need to provide a prepaid envelope or that's the reason why I could not get my prints taken over the weekend as I did not have one.

Police finger prints where fun but it tock a while to take them as it was a digital finger print machine and did not like my fingers.

Ok on the packet 3 it says lists all the visits to the US the field only has 3 lines I have been to the US about 6 times in the last 10 years am I meant to list all of them as I can not remember the months only the years that i was in the US for some of the times I visited years ago.

Hi all! Sorry I had been idle for a while. had been busy catching up with work, and also trying to tidy up my work so that whenever we move, the transition would be smooth for whoever replaces me.

separate sheet using the same numbers that appear on the form."

Kaffy, were you told how long it would take before you receive your "green card"? In the pre-departure notice it says it could take months, just wondering if you were given an estimate of how many months.

Thanks faith sorry for all the questions just trying to make sure I get the forms correct, I found my old old passport and filled in the missing date. I was off by 1 month for the visit I could not remember (it was over 10 years ago so it was not too bad)

One last question before I put the forms in the post do I need to sign them I throught I read some where that you dont sign the forms until your in front of them, I also seem to remember some one sayign they did sing them and when they got they they had to tipex (whiteout) there signiture.

Um... I don't know I know I didnt ask.. and I don't remember the immigration officer telling me an exact time frame, all he said was to use the stamp in my passport as a temporary greed card until my real one arrives.

But going by what I've read on people's timelines it should come within a month I think. Just hoping mine doesn't have mistakes! They issued my SS card with the wrong name - first part of first name only, completely omitted the second part. I went back to the SSA today and the lady looked it up on the system and said someone at immigration must've made a mistake when they entered my information. They even entered my parents names wrong! Anyway she corrected everything and they're gonna send me a new social security card.. just really hoping my name's not wrong on my green card cos I think it'll be a pain to change!

Now to answer your next question. You will need to sign Part I of DS-230, but not Part 2. You will sign Part 2 during the visa interview.

Kaffy, I understand your concern about the name they put in your Green Card. I wonder if there's a way to find out before they send it to you?

I'll probably wait until they send me my Welcome letter, which is supposed to come before the green card.

Hey Loz, we stayed at the Hotel Stellar. It's about a 5-10 min walk from the Consulate, not terribly close but it suited our budget and had fairly decent reviews on Tripadvisor.

Edit to add- This was only the first time we went down to lodge the I-130, the second trip I went by myself and flew back the same day.

We stayed at Rydges World Square. It's about 10-15 minutes walk from the Consulate. A little bit pricey, in my opinion, but we excused ourselves as our trip to Sydney also doubled as a weekend getaway.

I called the 1800 number yesterday but apparently she can't access my details over the phone so I've had to make an InfoPass appointment. The earliest I could get is in 2 weeks time so I'm just hoping they don't issue my GC before that!
