Visa Interview date given before medical interview

Hi fellow K1ers,

My Visa interview date has just come through but it has been given to me on the same day as my medical interview. Now ordinarily I would change the medical interview date but I am out of the country until 2 days before the interview date given. Can you go to the Visa interview without a medical interview or do you have to have the medical results before the interview day?

Thanks for your speedy help with this!

no, you can't!

they have to give you the results in an envelope for the POE.

you're gonna have to come back with the results.

you better rescedule the interview.

I have a feelin you can but will delay visa as will be subject to medical information being provided, but would be advisable to tell them that you have one booked and when it is. If you had medical on same say it would still be subject to them receiving the results of your medical.

Keep the interview date...you can still have the interview. If you are approved, it will be pending the medical results. Many people interviewing in London have had this situation and it was no problem.

J's medical exam in Frankfurt was scheduled to be just after his interview; the interview was delayed, and he was told that he would have to have the exam the following week (interview was on a Friday).

He had the exam the following Tuesday, and the doctor sent the results to the consulate; he didn't receive the packet with his passport, visa and the envelope that mustn't be opened until 11 business days later (18 calendar days).

Yes!!! You can!!!

I had my interview and medical on the same day in London (interview at 9.30, medical at 2.30). All it does is delay your visa slightly (visa wont be issued until the embassy have your results).

At the embassy, before you have your actual interview with the American consulate officer you hand all your documents to an English person. When he asked me about my medical I told him I was having my medical later that day. He just shrugged and said "this must be a new trend, 3 people who Ive seen before you are doing the same thing".

As for the delay, it wasnt so great. I had my interview on a Wednesday, doctoes told me the embassy would get my results by the monday, my visa was delivered via courier the following thursday. So a week and one day. Not bad really.

Gareth plans to try and do his medical the same day as he doesn't want to pay for two trips to London since we already have so much other stuff to pay for!

I have heard people having the medical the same day as the interview, the embassy will then just approve subject to medical results.
