Thanks for all the advice. It just kind of took me by surprise that I cannot get a license even with our situation. I have got Military dependants ID and SSN too.

I just checked my NOA for AOS.. It states that the USCIS will accept a Driver's License as valid ID for Biometrics appointment but the DMV will not issue us a license, thats just how Government Agencies work....

DMV rules are State specific so not every DMV will refuse to issue a license to a K1 holder. I got mine in Massachusetts very easily and there are other States that will also issue them.

Generally, a person 18 to 75 years of age with a valid out-of-country driver license in their possession may drive a private, non-commercial motor vehicle in the State of Texas for up to one year from date of entry into the United States, if their home country has reciprocity with the U.S.

It's a year......How they will know when it's a year is a different matter

Thanks a bunch.. makes me feel a lot better now. The worst that can happen is getting a ticket... a lot better than no groceries and a sick dog that cannot be taken to the vet
