I need opinion from those who have been on the same boat. My AOS coming from K-1 is still pending, USCIS interview is scheduled next month. I need to travel out of US next week using my AP. I already booked for my tickets using my married name. Will there be a problem since my passport is in my maiden name? Anyone who have been in the same case?

Thanks!

Since you have your AP, I don't see any problems with traveling out of US. Just make sure you have your marriage certificate with you and other pertinent documents (driver's license, state ID, etc) that will explain (show) the name changed.

The airline will probably ask to see documentary reasons of why the name in your passport does not match the name on the ticket. Use your marriage certificate for this.

Generally they verify the name on the ticket against the passport (for foreign travel) - you could have an issue with this. Why don't you ask the airlines if this is Ok or not. (When the passport name and name on the ticket does not match - you may not be bale to do e-tickets for example.) I messed my wife's middle and last name on her ticket once (to Mexico) and had to wait for a supervisor to work this out (both in USA and coming back in Mexico) - learned from that. Good Luck

Thanks guys! Yeah - was thinking to have copy of marriage. Was there anyone out there who was in the same situation and did have a problem?

Just to be safe, make sure your marriage certificate is a certified copy. I'm not in the same situation (as of yet) but I know for a fact that as long as you have documents to explain why your name on your passport is different from your AP, you will be fine. Since you are going back to PI, might as well have your name change in your passport.
