NVC asked for IV Bill that was already sent

Hello All,

My husband sent in the Affidavit of support forms and paid the Immigrant visa bill, in February, he got a letter from NVC in March asking for the IV bill, thats strange that was already paid, he sent a copy of the money order to NVC its now may and we have not heard anything from nvc, is that normall? why are they asking for a bill that is already paid, we thought by now i would get the DS230 sent it to NVC so the case can be completed, this is such a stress for both of us, what do you think we should do?

Hmmm...your husband is the beneficiary right? You should fill in your timeline. Its gonna be very hard for people to give you advice if they can't see your timeline path.

I think (if your husband is indeed the beneficiary) that he received the IV bill because of a bad mail system in Jamaica. Did he recieve paperwork asking to pay the IV bill in Feb, or did he use a shortcut? You should've been able to send your DS230 months ago. Have you checked the NVC automated line? Is it requesting you send back checklist items and visa form?

The DS230 is an automated generation so if your IV bill was indeed paid for your DS230 should've been generated about 1 week later. If they are sending forms to JA, then it could've gotten sent long ago and gotten lost in the JA system. SO NVC could just be waiting on you to send in the DS230 and other forms. I would call the automated line RIGHT NOW, and see what it says. I bet you they are waiting on you to give them what they need.

Hello Marlita, my husband is the petioner, I am the beneficiary living in Jamaica, he received the bill paid it send it to NVC, now they send him a letter saying they want the bill, he sent a copy of the money order to NVC, he called last month and they said all paperwork is in order, so i thought the DS-230 would be generated by now, will have him call again.

His DS230 should've been generated by now. He should definitely call cause something is not right.
