Closed. Only cause we live in a box of an apartment and the kids are usually sacked out in the living room.

Security is not the issue.....I have the chow/rott mix under the bed and the machette beside it.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

Closed. We are still (STILL!) living with my parents, and even though we have an entire floor to ourselves, I'd rather not have them hear anything -- not just for the more obvious reasons (ahem) but if we have the TV on late my mom will say things like, "You were up watching TV last night at 1am -- no wonder you're tired." Makes me feel like I'm 15 years old again.

Open, unless someone is staying overnight, or if people are coming over and we don't need them to see the stuff we cleaned out of the living room. :P

 LOL I'm glad we keep the bedroom door closed for that reason. When we are having company, it because a big holding area for stuff I don't know what to do with at the last minute.

*sigh* I am also a card carrying member of this club!

But I also keep the door closed every night when sleeping. Mostly cos if we keep the dog locked in with us, she won't bark. The flip side is that the cat knocks on the door all night to get in and out as he pleases!

Nothing like a machette-wielding dog to keep you safe ;)

When our daugher is staying with us, the door is closed and locked (mainly because kids walk right up to you really close while you are sleeping, which is startling and upsetting). However, when we are home alone, the door is typically wide open, unless it's cold.

Is that claustrophobia or does the space have to be smaller for it to be claustrophia?

I don't think it's claustrophobia. I can sleep with the door closed at a hotel, of course. Something about closed doors at home, I think.

( we rarely even ever close the bathroom door! )

if you don't have children its okay. isn't when you have one someday.

Closed, but I don't know why.

I don't mind sleeping with the door cracked open, but then when the AC comes on it slams the door shut and I HATE that.
