Ahhh... CTA buses and those 2 hour trips to travel less than 20 miles... priceless!

Bad traffic management and poor bus service really have taken their toll...

(Try checking if you have Cermak Produce anywhere around you... those Mexicans sell better produce- it smells like produce, than the big supermarkets)

Oh, that would be a "pack your lunch" outing....LOL...I'm all the way up north in East Edgewater

Oh then if you can get to the Red line its not that bad to Stanleys!

On a good day you're looking at 25-30 minutes from your Red line stop to the North/Clybourn stop. Feeling adventureous? Walk from there west to North/Elston and Stanley's/ :D You'll pass from yuppieland (ignore the Whole Foods along the way... unless you want to really pay for that organic latte), cross the river, and Elston won't be that far away.

Or the North Ave bus can drop you off in about 5 minutes from the North/Clybourn stop.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Take some antihistamines (non drowsy) along for the ride! God spare you that 157 bus!!!

(Or you could take the Brown line instead and take the North ave bus a couple of blocks east... )

I agree. This discussion is most definitely about being efficient with public transport!

Besides, you are only considering the all-or-noting aspect of resource consumption. Like its well documented, we (5%) consume roughly more than 25%. I could imagine that if 5% consumed 10% that still wouldn't be third world status, would it?

You're trying to solve the wrong problem.

Our consumption is just fine - the problem is that we are only 5% of the world's population.

If that number was 25%, the balance would be restored.

In other words, to sustain our current levels of consumption, the world population should be

brought down to about 400 million x 4 = 1.6 billion people.

What we need is a virus that would make 3 out of 4 people sterile. Problem solved.

Well, that could work. Problem is, you need to make sure the virus is somehow uneffective to the gluttons. Then the rest would just die of heart disease or diabetes someday.

I don't care if it affects the gluttons as well - let's be fair.
